If you is let me know how it runs.
Apparently a certain other site has recieved shipment of the BB and modem adaptors so I'm guessing it'll be all up and running by tommorow.
All you have to do is say, " Sorry, i was wrong" and leave it at that
> But this non-speaking adds to the realism, why dont you just accept
> that you're wrong because it is clearly an R P G
So...never, ever saying a single word makes the character seem more real?
Yeah...right.
Zelda is an RPG. Sure, it is also classed as an adventure, but Link does develop throughout the game gaining new abilities and vitality. You're right in that he doesn't go up in 'levels', but not all games are Final Fantasy.
Zelda is a world with distinguishable areas and dungeons... it is a role play game... you watch the character grow... you don't go from level to level... you carry the character throughout it all. Die Hard Vendetta doesn't have you visit certain areas save the day then wonder around america and get to your next destination. It means the game is split up into levels. Zelda is not split up, you are with your character all the way through and watch as he/she gains abilities such as bow and arrow techniques.
Tis an RPG. Not a traditional RPG. but an RPG.
N64 magazine used to have it under RPG until they invented Adventure, as did N64 PRO, as did award ceremonys and Shigeru Miyamoto describes it as an RPG.
There is more to an RPG than stat points and turn based battles.
Vyse from Skies of Arcadia speaks, as do many characters in RPGs.
Link doesn't grow at all in the games, except for OOT where he literally grows. He gains a better sword an shield, that's about it. He doesn't even speak, you are given no hint at any spiritual or mental growth either. His personality does not show itself, or change, or develop.
Where are his stats? His traits? His abilities? Leveling up?
No clear levels? Uhh...what games have you been playing? There is a large hub, and several clearly definable dungeons.
> Yes, and Zelda neatly encompasses practically none of these traits.
Zelda follows these RPG traits:
Play as a single character.
A character which grows throughout the game.
Involving storyline.
No clear levels.
