I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"
The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.
The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.
I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.
If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)
Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.
I've bought...
Black GC
Wavebird controller
Mario Sunshine
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 0
Sonic Mega Collection
I already have a memory card and I have plenty of Reddies to grab a couple of free official memory cards from SR.
I've also pre-ordered...
Metroid Prime
Zelda: Windwaker
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Gameboy Advance SP (Black)
Zelda: A Link To The Past
Guess I'll start off with a little Mario session and then maybe move on to either Resi Evil or maybe a little Sonic.
I'll write back again later. Ugh - feel like crud now - stupid flu...
Definetly one of my favourite games on the Cube.
Damned GameCube. How is one person supposed to accumulate all the decent games??
Anyway, I guess I better get dressed and drag myself down the town (looking like something out of the Resi games). The shop will probably think I'm buying the Resi games to be closer to my own kind - judging by the way I look right now.
Pretty stuck on what to buy at the moment. I know for sure that I wanna pick up Metroid and Zelda, but they aren't out yet. I wanna grab the Resi games, but I'm not sure I want Mario Sunshine and I'm not very sure about the other games. At the same time I don't wanna walk away with just the 2 Resi games, otherwise it'll feel like I'm just buying the GC for the types of games I can get on X-Box you know ?
I want to essentially get 'Nintendo' games on it. I've played and beaten Luigi's Mansion so I don't need that. Not really in the mood for Pikmin right now. Its ashame there isn't a Mario 128 or something yet. ;-))
I'm guessing Sunshine should be good though so maybe I'll just force myself to grab it and hopefully end up pleasently surprised.
Gonna pre-order Prime and Zelda while I'm down there along with a GB Advance SP and Zelda: A Link To The Past.
OK, I'm off for now to go and try and get down the town. I'll report back later with the results of if I got the console and what I got with it.
Mario Sunshine is a brilliant game.
Anyway, about Eternal Darkness, it's very different to Resi.
Resi is a survival horror where you have to run and save ammunition.
ED is an adventure horror where you can slash as many zombies as you feel like. I think it's a lot more fun in that respect.
Also, there's a few clever twists to it.
Best of all, you won't have already played it on a Playstation! :-)
The 'mastery' rating of Pikmin is pretty high I would say.
Use the A button to grab and throw Pikmin.
The B button is the whistle to call Pikmin, the longer you hold it the larger the radius.
X deselects all the Pikmin with you, and they automatically sort themselves in different ranks depending on colour and growth.
And the C-stick is used to move all selected Pikmin as a group in that direction.
That's pretty much it, Y is the map, Z adjusts camera angle and L/R zoom in/out.
Shame Pikmin 2 probably won't be out by then, the two player mode should be good fun.
