I'm thinking of picking up a GC as soon as tomorrow.
A couple that haven't stopped breathing might now be thinking "why the change of heart ?"
The most obvious reason is that I have flu right now so chances are its the words of a sick bloke ranting.
The other is that I've been laying in bed thinking back to games I played such as Metroid and Zelda and how there are times I'd like to play them again (but of course in they're new forms). Afterall, at the end of the day I am a gamer, not a fanboy and I've grown up with Nintendo games.
I might also look into a Gameboy Advance SP towards the end of the month with some of the classic Snes games that are out or coming out.
If I get a GC, this is what I'm thinking of grabbing...
Black GC
Extra controller (black of course)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Mario Sunshine
Advanced scart lead (for best pic and sound quality)
Then of course I'll pick up Metroid Prime and Zelda as they come out. Don't need a memory card as I have the one from when I had the GC before. Anyway, thats the current thing going through my head.
Blame my credit card taunting me while I'm ill for this happening.
Right, well I'm off to ponder more on this and decide on how I'm going to pay for it all if I decide to go shopping tomorrow.
The only thing to dissapoint me about Zero was that it wasn't 'scary'.
In the remake zombies are constantly leaping at you suddenly out of baths/cupboards/closest etc. You can be walking down a hall and a zombie will actually burst through a door and lunge at you. Zero didn't have any of these things, which was a bit dissapointment.
It's basically full of things that make you jump, and you're constantly worrying about if you have enough ammo to deal with a zombie grabbing you, so you're really cautious when exploring; I actually get quite scared of going round that corner in case I get killed and have to do it all again. The massive supplies of weaponary in Zero destroyed that feeling of tension.
Still, both brilliant games.
I hate them.
> Anyway, at least I know that I was on the hard mode now.
Erm.. normal mode. You have to unlock hard..
Other defense items you can get are batteries and bangers and the like. Quite cool. And play it through on easy first - much more fun.
And yes I've also heard about what they do and I'm not looking forward to the encounter. ;-)
Well at least I know I know I was on the hard mode now so there is still hope for it yet. I thought I must have done that cause it was just beyond unforgiving ! It drove me nuts cause I kept thinking some people will be playing this for the first time and those nasty Capcom gits are just tearing your guts out right from the beginning without so much as a though for anyone playing this for the first time.
I mean I'm pretty much a veteran of the Resi series and I was left swearing at it.
Anyway, at least I know that I was on the hard mode now. Hmmmmmmmmm, me thinks Capcom should shove that question idea setting the difficulty right where the sun don't shine from now on. Would love to know whose retarded idea that was - stupid prat.
Anyway, thanks for the info guys - I've actually got a will to put the game back on again now and actually enjoy it.
Also, You don't have to push L to use one, If you've got Defense weapons set to automatic, Jill just automaticcly stabs the zombie...
Hiking - Easy Mode
Climbing - Normal Mode
Oh and that first zombie thats eating Kenneth, Just run back into the dining room and Barry sorts him out. The main key to Resi is to save ammo, Zombies are slow so just run past em ;)
Select 'Hiking' at the start that's easy mode.
Oh, and the first zombie, after you see it eating Kenneth, run back into the previous room and Barry will kill him for you.
Basically this is much more survival horror, Zero is more centered around actually killing things, I killed every zombie I came across in Zero, but in the original that isn't the way to do things. At most I shoot them til lthey fall and then run past them.
