I've read articles that Mac and Windows both haves some pros and cons but Mac is way better. Mac is also more expensive, and I believe that there are a lot more applications for Windows than there are for Mac.
All I want to know is in the title of this thread. Any response appreciated, thank you.
This 'arguement' will run forever .... it's been going a long time already :¬) The web is 'awash' with the pro's and con's of both systems....this link seems to be the clearest to understand ...
Windows v's Mac
It's a bit out-dated though, especially where speed and graphics are concerned. Even the new Mac Minis have a fairly decent gaming card and dual core processor now.
I own both and use both regularly, so I would suggest that I'm not biased in recommendations here.
There are three main things you need to think about though:
1) Use/Interface - depending on what you will use it for, the interface (windows or Mac OS front end) will work better for some things and not for others. Gaming is still better supported on Windows while DTP, art and Movie creation is better on Mac in general. However, this is slowly changing and both are getting better at everything in general.
2) price - You'll get a faster PC for the same money, there is no doubt about this. This gets a bit more complicated when you look at how much resource windows 7 takes up on the system compared to Mac OS, thanks in part to the set architecture of the Mac against a pieced together architecture that Windows has to be flexible enough to cope with.
3) Asthetics - Macs are just wonderful to look at, from the Mac mini to the sleek iMac, PCs less so, though obviously you can mod them. The issue comes when you want a slim form factor on a PC, it takes away from upgrading ability, where as Macs are traditionally not seen as needing upgrades (short of memory) and will keep their value, so can be traded in should you eventually need a new model. If you're more concerned with speed than looks then PC is the better bet.
Windows are better to protect against the rain while indoors.
Macs are better to protect against the rain while outdoors.
They both need to be closed to work properly.
