Censors ban 'brutal' video game

British censors have banned a violent video game from the UK for the first time in a decade.

The video game Manhunt 2 was banned for its "unrelenting focus on stalking and brutal slaying", the British Board of Film Classification said.

It means the Manhunt sequel cannot be legally supplied anywhere in the UK.

The parents of a Leicester schoolboy who blamed the original game for the murder of their 14-year-old son said they were "absolutely elated".

I've not played the first, but I think my brother did. Anything that gets a ban by the BBFC (is this a film or a game? BBF&GC :S) is a game I have to play!

Hang on, wasn't it the daily mail who 'championed' banning the first game after running the story about the mother blaming the game for her son being stabbed.

Then the police report found that the game actually belonged to the victim and the stabbing occurred because the other kid was looking for money for his drug habit.

So what are they telling us? Drugs are good and games are bad?

Meh, this is somewhat ironic. Developed in the uk and the country of origin can't get their hands on it. Tbh i doubt this will last. Either there will be changes to get through OR theres a loop hole allowing people to grab them from abroad or through piracy and no doubt make some histroy with it. Probably as the most imported/pirated game for a long time. I'm sure some people will enjoy finding ways to get the game and screw the system (Thats IF it does get banned)

I didn't play the first manhunt and i won't be getting the second one even if it went to be sold in the uk. But i fear if this game gets banned, who's going to be next? Bioshock? System shock, rainbow six, counter strike, dead rising 2, resident evil 5? devil may cry 4 etc etc.

Quick! Load my bunker with hentai, rockstar games, snuff movies, fps and rts games!
