Okay, I just got Metroid Prime today, and I've only been playing it about 2 minutes and I'm worried already. Do you really have to push down the L button to strafe? That's crap! So you can't turn and strafe at the same time? Rubbish! I can't see anywhere in the options to change the controls. You can't even use the camera stick to move your view around, can you?

Someone tell me this isn't so, I need a control system I can use or I'll never play it.

Deal with it?

Do you actually think I give a damn?

It's not my fault if your so incompetent you can't hold down a shoulder button, a button your fingers are actually resting on, to lock on to an enemy.

Don't get a stress on, will you?

I don't like the control system. Deal with it. I entered a room with two enemies and found the ensuing battle almost impossible to follow. Any control system which requires you to push a button and a direction to strafe and push a button and a direction to look around isn't intuitive enough for me. And it is a first person shooter, in that it's a shooter, viewed from the first-person perspective.

Not a patch on Halo, so far.

Anyone who had played Metroid for any decent lengh of time would quickly realise you don't need to strafe.

It's NOT a FPS.

May I suggest you sell your Gamecube and go away and play all your lovely generic PS2 games.

I don't like them - end of story. I shall now have a hissy fit and throw the game out the window. Not being able to turn and strafe in a first-person shoot 'em up is disgraceful, like not being able to fire your gun.

Bah.

I thought the same thing when i first got it, but after half an hour you realise that the controls are amazing, bear with it and you will understand.

When you get further on in the game, you realise that if you had used, eg, the TS2 controls, the game would be impossibly hard to play, it wasn't until after a few hours I actually used the controls as if, they were, a part of me... damn I sound retarded...

The C-Stick is used to select beams in the same way the D-pad is used to select visors.

You just don't have any others yet.

So I can't change them? That really is crap. I'm finding it impossible to even move around normally. The camera stick doesn't even do anything, why couldn't that be used to strafe? And look around? Huh?
