As a first-time Nintendo owner, maybe someone can explain the history of this title to me; why is it seen as such a major title, and why are people dashing out to buy Gamecube's to play it?
Don't get me wrong! It *is* a very good game, and I am enjoying playing it, but while it's fun, for me there's certainly nothing particularly outstanding about it.
By that I mean it is definitely a game worth owning, but - and remember, this is just my opinion - it's not a game worth specifically buying a 'cube to play.
For me, there are already better games on Gamecube that people *didn't* rush out and buy the machine to play.

yeah i'm just like you....i think it's quite good but i'm not really hooked on it...
doesn't help that i'm hooked on what is in my opinion the best rpg around - XENOGEARS!
The Trowel is in her other suit ;D

Super missles or a trowel.
MWAHAHAHAHA
And 2 or 3 super missiles in the mouth will dispatch a Sheegoth.
*Plays a bit more*
Huh. Was a lot easier that way... :^)
*Beats that rock bloke*
*Goes back to the room that had the rock bloke in, finds another ice monster thing*
Any point in having a pop at that one? Do you get anything for it?
I've taken to running away whenever possible now. Fighting only prolongs the endless backtracking. Went into the pirate ship. Got to the energy tank, where it tells you that you need the water suit. Had to go all the way back out.
Now I have the water suit (which makes samus look crap), I think it'll be a little while before I can be to go back in there again.
