It's been reported in a variety of sources today, that Juan Sebastian Veron has a get out clause in his conrtact which enables him to leave old trafford at the end of the season.

Apparently, he is initially on a 'one year trial period' at the moment, with a buy-out clause set at around £32 million. The united board have officially denied such rumours, but one thing which is not in doubt is that Veron is not happy where he is. He claims to be unfamiliar with the English style of football and the role he has been asked to fulfill.

Personally, I think getting rid of him would be a good thing. Not only has he been unimpressive for the majority of the games he's taken part in this season, but United have changed their formation and style of play in order to fit him into the squad. There simply isn't room for Veron in a midfield with Beckham, Giggs, Keane and Scholes, and his arriveal had done as much as anything to unsettle the players.

I think the fact that they play in the same position is the problem. During the warmup when they split into pairs Beckham and Veron warmup together and their passes to one another over distance were spot on. During the game they were both poor and I think it is the frustration of them gettting in each others way.

Maybe there's some kind of rist between Bekham and Veron??? After all, they are both highly regarded as 2 of the world's best, maybe Veron dis-likes Beckham for winning more than him?? Or maybe it's because they're both competing to play in the same position??

I do not disagree that he will help with the Ayala signing and Forlan, but I have been to old Trafford about 5 times this season and on each occasion Veron has played poorly, more so when both he and Beckham are on the same pitch.

Maybe Veron isn't playing well because he can't speak English?? And therefore he hasn't quite adjusted to the English lifestyle. This happened with me on Championship Manager. He started ok but couldn't score. It's the end of 2001, he's finally learning English, and whenever he starts in the centre of midfield he usually scores twice! I usualy have him on the bench now, and stick to a 4-4-2.

I also think that Veron is a key point in Ayala signing. They're both Argentinian, and should play well together and like each other. But if Veron leaves then Ayala may think why should I bother?? After all, Veron could help him adjust to England.

After the way he played on Saturday, he can go for me. I do not thing he managed to pass to a Utd player two times in a row and his long balls were miles off target.

Thing about Veron leaving just doesnt seem to go away.

Personally i think it has just been blown way out of proportion by the newspapers. All Veron said was that he woudnt mind moving back to Lazio. Then next day in the papers you see things like "Veron leaving", as if the deal as already been done and dusted.

Oh yeh, Ayala has said he would love to move to United. Apparently he has had an offer from United before, and the only thing that stands between him signing for United is Valencia accepting a bid.

that's the great thing about ronaldinho, he's very versatile. he can play as an out and out striker, or as a attacking midfielder behind the front 2 in a scholes type role and he can play in the midfield for when keane gets himself banned or injured. i also think he's left footed which would help if giggsy got injured. however he'd cost like 25 million as PSG won't sell cheaply unless they have finacial troubles.
and yes along with saviola ronaldinho is the god of champ manager

I never actually realsied Ronaldinho was a striker before he moved to PSG. I saw him play in the Copa America '99, and he was brilliant! But I still thought he was a midfielder?? He plays brilliantly down the wing on Championship Manager though.

shame we couldn't get *little ronaldo* ronaldinho from PSG or even Saviola from Barca though the last one would be hard seeing as he only signed this season and it'd take a lot of money for them to sell. they are 2 of the best young strikers in the world at the moment and they'd do great at Man Utd but forlan is a great signing as well if we get him

I agree with Dr. Duck. With a bit more experience and practice young 'goofy-Lukey' could be just who we need to back up Ryan Giggs. But I don't think Keane should go, it should be Veron. Keano's been everywhere this season to help United turn things around! But he'll probably just go and critisise the fans again at the end of the season, for a lack of support. I also think Yorke should go and Forlan would be a good replacement.
