It's been reported in a variety of sources today, that Juan Sebastian Veron has a get out clause in his conrtact which enables him to leave old trafford at the end of the season.

Apparently, he is initially on a 'one year trial period' at the moment, with a buy-out clause set at around £32 million. The united board have officially denied such rumours, but one thing which is not in doubt is that Veron is not happy where he is. He claims to be unfamiliar with the English style of football and the role he has been asked to fulfill.

Personally, I think getting rid of him would be a good thing. Not only has he been unimpressive for the majority of the games he's taken part in this season, but United have changed their formation and style of play in order to fit him into the squad. There simply isn't room for Veron in a midfield with Beckham, Giggs, Keane and Scholes, and his arriveal had done as much as anything to unsettle the players.

Have you been watching United since we beat Derby 5-0?? No. Since then, Keane has shown the driving force and determination that any team would love to have from their captain! He's been everywhere, runs into the box, back to defend, everywhere except in goal! How can you say it's easy to replace him???

You wouldn't have to be brilliant to fill Keanes boots, it's just that he has the respect of the players to make them play well. If a player twice as god as him came in, they would fail because he wouldn't have the same leadership qualities that Keane posseses

What about the 3rd, Roy Carrol???

And I don't think Keane should go yet, unless of course he makes rediculous wage demands of £80k a week, like Sol Campbell!! He's proven how valuable he is to us with his determination to get us out of the bad patch, and he could help us to win trophys this season! Can you honestly name any one player who can replace him doing the same, if not better job???

sell keane

Nah Man, Have to disagree with ya there.

He may have made those dodgy comments about prawn sandwiches last year, but in my opinion Roy Keane is our main man. He covers so much ground during a game and he is the driving force behind a lot of our play. You also see him running down the wings quite a lot as well. Selling Keane would be a huge mistake.

Also...remember how bad we were in the champs league final without him?

I think Manchester United can hold two record signings this year. The first being, Best Buy of the year, Nistelrooy and the second being worst investiment of the year, Veron.

Veron is certainly not playing well at the moment. I saw the highlights of Saturday's game, and it looked like he did nothing all game.....oh except for play a glorious chipped reverse pass over the defence for van Nistelrooy to attempt an audacious overhead kick which cannoned back off of the cross bar. The guy may not be playing well, but United have won their last 9, so its hard to complain. He's their to add a bit of creativity and unexpectedness to their game. Lets see how he does against Liverpool on Tuesday.

i've said it many times already this season. sell keane, stick beckham in the centre of the pitch which he's been moaning about wanting to play there for ages and put veron out on the right. oh and also let veron take the free kicks please

I think it's terrible the way he (Beckam) is getting treated at Man Utd. He is one of their greatest, yet as soon as Veron comes, he is pushed out, I think there are other members of the first team who should have been shown that sign of discontent first. Barthez for example, he was like a one'legged donkey when they were in that rough patch, even Veron aswell

I think Fergie has realised that he cannot play both in the team. If it is true that Veron has a clause that says he must play, then this explains why Beckham has been warming the bench. Beckham is better in the middle and like you say Veron cannot play there, perhaps on the wing would be better for him.

I think its right to say that Beckham and Veron shouldnt be playing in the same team.

Both base thier game around long passes, and we really dont need the two of them. One that i think should be tried is Beckham down the middle and Veron taking Beckhams place down the right. Veron is just too much of a liability in the middle.
