That means, by the time you get your GameCube, I'll have played all the "big" PS2 titles we're all getting excited about, all the unknown titles we're REALLY getting excited about and probably a load of other ace little gems yet to be announced. Bear in mind MGS2 is confirmed as being released in February, here.
And you'll have... nothing. And when you do get it, you'll have no where near as much. No Zelda, no Mario, a merely "good" Luigi game, less than good WaveRace, half a dozen other titles and of course, Super Monkey Ball which might also be on the PS2 by then.
Undoubtably one of you'll come up with the "I like Nintendo" argument which is fine. However, you play games that don't exist and still might be over a year away (we all know what Zelda releases are like). So, your choice but I can only really see the hardcore Nintys backing up the GameCube in the UK at least. Add to that the oh-so-imminent Christmas and Sony's immense marketing might, I think UK Nintys have a problem.
I'm looking forward to announcements (which'll come sooner or later) that it and Maximo will also be coming to the Gamecube.
They're bound to come sooner or later...
The thing that Sony offer above Nintendo is a variation in the types

Nothing to do with quality of graphics or the usual

On Playstation, if I want a FPS then I can play one.
If I want a
> strategy game like "Risk" or "Panzer Commander", I can play
> one
If I want a sports game, I can play one
If I want a 3rd person
> explore/shoot type game, I can ...(you seeing my point).
Please Tell me he did not just say that pleaswe tell me he did not just say that... go back to DVD's mate.
I dont think you get

What

Or a 3rd person
> explore/shoot game?
Or a survival horror game?
This isn't me saying Nintendo
> suck, this is me saying that I don't feel I am offered the choices in types of

I prefer PS2 simply because I feel, for me, it

N64 ok but Gamecube has all the Major 3rd party Support Sony have which means REsident Evil, Tekken,
With my N64, I had a LOT of games. And of those, I bothered
> to play Blastcorps, a wrestling game and Goldeneye on Co-Op mode.
Goldeneye had a co-op mode??? Wow you learn something new everyday.
And that was
> basically it.
Which is why I am not going anywhere near the Gamecube, because I
> got burned when I tried Nintendo, yet I still bring out my PSX games and give

Today, I played Tomb Raider, Silent Hill 2, GTA3, Tekken and
> Risk.
All different styles of games, and all still cause enjoyment.
Maybe if
> Nintendo would offer a wider selection of genres, I'd take a look.
But so far,

Luigi's Mansion..well I had Mario 64 and didn't like
> that.
Waveracer - Ummm...I had waveracer on N64.
Star Wars - I had Shadows of
> The Empire.
erm did he just presume rogue leader is like shadows of the empire no its like Rogue Squadron.
Crazy Taxi
Simpsons Road Rage
FIFA 2002
Pikmin
Smash brothers
Luigi's mansion not like Mario 64
Just nothing new, no new style or stunning game, just variations
> on the same old, same old.
Pikmin, Too human, Monkey Ball, Eternal DArkness, NEW Zelda are you trying to say Nintendo doesn't innovate if you are then We need a bigger stick.
Sony's variety comes from 3rd party support like Namco, Capcom and Konami which Nintendo now have hold of on there Gamecube now with Resident Evil only on GC, Soul Calibur, FIFA, SEGA's very own Sonic, Ridge Racer Nintendo ruled to start off with now they rule even more :D
But ah well, the best game ever will be
> out Feb 22nd, only on PlayStation 2. It got an awesome 9.6 from the hard to

I gotta laugh at that, you lot complain when we say the Gamecube is gonna be the best console ever, cause we haven't even played it. Then you go saying the best game ever will be coming out, ha ha you haven't even played it, do you really read reviews and go with everything they say?
Oh and don't say you've played the demo, cause demos are often a lot different to the real game.
> On the subject of FPS, were Goldeneye and Perfect Dark anything that

Goldeneye offered a great multiplayer.
The only thing PDark
> really specialised in was weapons (and a main reason about why people bought the
> game.)
Ahey, people bought it because it is one of, if not the best console first person shooter ever, to say I bought it over a year ago and I still play the combat simulator today, it must be something preety damn special, most First Person Shooters you play through once then leave them too collect dust.
>Single player mode was nothing brilliant in either of them.
Maybe the single player in both games is a bit dated now, but when Goldeneye was originally released it revoloutionised the way we look at console first person shooters.
The Multiplayer on both games is the best you can find on any console, Perfect Darks combat simulator has got more to it than half of these second rate PC rehashes have got in the whole game.

Kind of.... :D

I was only kidding, it's just I've seen the program on Disney Playhouse and I thought it was hilarious. I can't get over the line,
"Sharing is a good thing!" :D
Just thought I'd point out Luigi's Mansion got about 7 out of 10 from GameSpot...not exactly special.

Maybe, but as I've said, they won't be as good.
Dinosaur Planet isn't exactly

I've yet to see proof of that, but if it is true, then it would only be because as you said, it's not realistic looking, and so the graphics are supposedly 'better.' It's the same with Luigi's Mansion, and other Mario titles. And if the characters are anything like they were in Lylat Wars, I will not go near the game with a barge pole.
Anyhow, why are you so obsessed with games that look realistic? Have you
> ever thought that just because all PS2 and PSX cartoony games are designed for

Obsessed?? Hey, I loved Spyro The Dragon, and Crash Bandicoot. But I prefer games like Deus Ex and Metal Gear Solid, which quite plainly the GameCube is not going to offer me.

Ah, innovation. Nothing wrong with it, but not always needed. Are you sure that's not going to get too confusing?? Devil May Cry is just lots of fun, and improving your technique is superb. And it's brilliant the way you pick something up, and then later on to complete the level you have to use it. It always seems to fit in so perfectly, and yet you never seem to realise it.
Pefect Dark 2 not even

Perhaps, but what I meant was that's at least 2 years away from release. We all know what Rare are like with release dates.
"Bear In The Big Blue House" confirmed for GameCube. LOL!!

And, what? You think that games like Devil May Cry, GTA3 and MGS2 are a good influence on Kids... Nintendo know exactly what the kids want... This wasn't a shot at you, Ant... ;)
C'mon... Face it.... the PS2 is a stupid all-in-one 'TOY' for kids who pretend their 'big-boys'... The games aren't that fun, (they have little replay value,) and NONE of them make you laugh...
I'm not disappointed with the PS2, but compared to the Gamecube?...
....PlayStation 2 ain't shít!
Game
Excuse the French... ;)
Dinosaur Planet isn't exactly cutesy looking. It's not realistic, but it's certainly not a cartoon look a like. Oh and it isn't a platformer at all. And it looks better than MGS2 :P

Eternal Darkness has the advantage over Devil May Cry because it is VERY innovative. If your character sees a lot of freaky stuff they will question reality and hallucinate. One example is you can walk through a door, then your arms drop off, then your upper torso, and you are still controlling the walking legs! Then a white flash fills the screen. You imagined it all and are still holding the doorknob! Other stuff happens, but few other examples have been released.
Pefect Dark 2 not even confirmed? Where have you been? Rare registered two names as trademarks (After Dark and another I forget) like it did with Conkers BFD (they registered Conkers Other Bad Fur Day, and another). Also, Rare had a technical demo at Spaceworld 2000 of a rotating 3D model of Jo Dark, rendered on GC hardware. Maybe not confirmed but as good as.
