I have owned my PS2 for exactly a year today and I have enjoyed every last minute of it. However, I am now told that Nintys will have to wait anoth 6 months (that's half a year) to play on their next gen superconsole.

That means, by the time you get your GameCube, I'll have played all the "big" PS2 titles we're all getting excited about, all the unknown titles we're REALLY getting excited about and probably a load of other ace little gems yet to be announced. Bear in mind MGS2 is confirmed as being released in February, here.

And you'll have... nothing. And when you do get it, you'll have no where near as much. No Zelda, no Mario, a merely "good" Luigi game, less than good WaveRace, half a dozen other titles and of course, Super Monkey Ball which might also be on the PS2 by then.

Undoubtably one of you'll come up with the "I like Nintendo" argument which is fine. However, you play games that don't exist and still might be over a year away (we all know what Zelda releases are like). So, your choice but I can only really see the hardcore Nintys backing up the GameCube in the UK at least. Add to that the oh-so-imminent Christmas and Sony's immense marketing might, I think UK Nintys have a problem.

Not necessarily, a lot of companys put a lot more effort into their demos than they do the final game, that way gamers play the demo and think it's gonna be the best thing ever.

And everyone is saying MGS2 is an amazing game, surely

Plenty of games have come out followed by enough hype to sink a battle ship, most the time they don't live up to it, there's so much hype surrounding MGS2, people are expecting an act of god, it will never live up to it.

Maybe, but as I've said,

Online gaming is rubbish though! Nothing compared to the fun of playing with mates.

And you prefer PC controls?? Really?? I find PC controls too complicated usually.

Supposedly Red Faction is much better on PS2...

I gotta laugh at that, you lot complain when we

Oh and don't say you've played the demo, cause demos are often a lot

I have played the demo, and it's brilliant, so surely the game will be even better??

And everyone is saying MGS2 is an amazing game, surely that's enough proof? I haven't seen one review yet which is displeased with MGS2 in any way.

They will be almost the same except my PC will occasionally crash. And I can play them with better (in my opinoin) controls, (mouse and keyboard). I also don't have to buy a memory card, and who cares? I am saving £200 by not buying a PS2. As I have said I am willing to play them in their 'not as good' (apparently) form for that kind of saving! Oh, and if I wanna play them in multiplayer, there'll be more people online (I expect anyway).

so there :P

Purple modded Jap one from Lik Sang - ordered about a week before they started selling the newly released Jap consoles in the other colours.

My main gaming TV isn't NTSC either - picked up an NTSC>PAL converter with ease and the problem is sorted. There really are no excuses.

You guys are all taking this way too seriously.

People have different tastes.

If I had a PS2 there would only be 2 games I'd want that are available now, and they've only been released in the last month or two.

So I'll wait a bit longer for a machine that has many titles that I want, and plenty of variety in those titles.

And who says we have to stick to only one machine?

Simple.

End of discussion.

Who says you have to wait six months? Currently enjoying Super Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Leader and Wave Race.

Can't be doing with anybody moaning about the delay - there's a remarkably easy way to be proactive about the "problem".
