Now all I do for exercise is well walk and I'm starting to notice me being not as energetic as I should
So it's time to change
RAR eye of the tiger
I have a sit up machine thing... I did 250 yesterday but now I've really hurt my muscles and can't do any more.
I might get a bike machine and weights
Or maybe I'll go get some crisps... yum
> You wrote all that just for someone to get fit?...
Um, as AfroJoe said, it’s not that much.
Plus the point of the forums is to talk, swap ideas and advice, I am very much into fitness and know a little about it, so I thought why not give a little advice.

They're meant to be hilarious when you put them on your face.
I want one.

Yes, beatch.
You have an “abb thing”, I’m guessing you mean one of those crunch cradle do-hickeys; you only really need to use these if you have either neck problems or bad form on that exercise.
Also you said you did 250 reps, was this all in one set?
One thing that lots of people do when they start training their stomach is just pelt out rep after rep of sit-ups or crunches. I can’t understand why, the abdominals are a muscle and should be trained in the same kind of way as your other muscles. I go to the gym 4 times a week and tend to do 3 sets of crunches with a weight on my chest, 3 sets of reverse crunches on an incline bench and 4 sets (two either side) of oblique twists, each set doing about 10-15 reps (if this becomes to easy just slow each rep down). You should also not exercise the same muscle two days in a row, rest is very important for your muscles; it is during the rest days that the muscle grows.
If you are just looking to lose some body fat and improve your fitness levels, you would probably find it more beneficial to do CV. Lots of people believe crunches will reduce the level of fat on the stomach, bodybuilders used to believe in “spot reduction”, this is exercising a particular muscle area to reduce the fat in that area, it has since been proven to be pap.
The CV will not only help your fitness level and reduce body fat, it will also make certain muscles grow and become more toned. The abbs are a stabilising muscle, so things such as running, squat thrusts and tuck-jumps all train the stomach muscles.
If you are just looking to improve a little, you said you played football, so why not join your local team.
If you’re series about getting into shape I recommend you join a gym (if there are any near you), the instructor will set up a schedule for you and there are always lots of people to ask for advise from.
