Right now I'm surprised at how popular it is. The speech is really annoyingly slow, with one of the most infuriating noises ever recorded at the end of each sentence. Plus the first word of the sentence is usually said, for example "Hey" or "Hello", which is just...unnecessary.
The graphics? Great in a lot of places, in others it's merely passable. I really like some bits, especially the bird that captures Aryll at the start, but the far scenery is made out of cardboard.
The jumping kind of annoys me as well. There is no jump button, but he just jumps when he reaches the end of a platform. It removes the skill, but I guess that's not really the point of the game. That's what your going to say, right? Okay, I take that on board, but at one point I jumped off a ledge thinking it was the right place to go, only to find I'd already been here and couldn't get back up to the ledge. Surely this isn't the point either? A manual jump would've let me get onto a ladder to get back up there.
Now, I haven't got very far for two reasons - hardly any time on the game, no space on the memory card. So I can't comment on battles further into it, but the ones I have done have been incredibly easy. To the point of boredom. Even when you have to get a weapon from the opponent, all you do is stand there pressing block and wait for it to hit you. And it even misses a lot of the time.
Basically random musings here, but it seems very simplistic and Mario-ish most of the time. I'm probably the only person who will understand that, but basically it isn't a good thing. And I know most people won't have got this far because the moment they saw it was primarily an anti-Zelda thread they'll have furiously stuffed on their angry hats ready to type out an amazingly flawed and typo-riddled reply on why I'm wrong in under three seconds, and that's fine. If you want to do that, go ahead, but don't expect to get anywhere. It's all subjective, there is no proof, and a lot of people can't even tell the difference between fact and opinion.
Oh, and what's with those guard pigs who have 360 degree vision?
Stop whining, it's really becoming quite dull.
Saying you don't enjoy a game and explaining your reason is one thing. You're analysing and complaining about every single sodding thing.
"the stick doesn't gradually break"
Not too petty, are you telling me you wanna see single shards of the twig splinter into the air as gravity takes its toll or the game just wouldn't be good in your eyes?
It's a cartoon, the game's not serious, it's light-hearted.
Is it that hard to understand?
I am not convinced that it will be fantastic. I think it will be. You must think a similar/advanced version of a product that you like would be good etc. If that made sense. Anyway I just am looking forwards to it, and tend to ignore 'annoyances' such as little sounds and inability to read fast in game.
But you could tell
> that from the fact that it's a "dinkle-doo". That sound is
> almost annoying by definition.
It's been in every Zelda game, it's only left in really for retro value.
> Oh, and yeah, I really appreciate it when someone's shouting and the

> own and capital letters just wouldn't emphasise it enough.
Stop being so petty.

WTF?
Have you never ever seen a cartoon in your life?
It's not trying to be funning Metal Gear Solid, it's a cartoon for fooks sake.
The game's obviously not gonna appeal to you so i'd just quit while you're ahead.
You shouldn't be leaning toward the idea that it will be fantastic, because that will alter your perception of the game when you actually get it.
Just:
A) I've never ever played a bad Nintendo game
B) I'm waiting to play Zelda to make a judgement - but yes, due to excitment and previous Zelda games, I am swinging towards the idea that it will be fantastic. Everbody does that with previous knowledge of a similar title etc.
C) Your gripes with the game sound pretty superficial
Anyhoo....
You should look at each game in exactly the same way - you shouldn't let a developer's reputation or past record influence your decision on a particular game. EVERY company is capable of making a crap game.
And if when I play Zelda and I think its rubbish, I will say so. Just I usualy treat Nintendo games a little more specially, because they, er, are actually really good.
Oh dear.
