Plus for the ps2 you actually have to buy the modem and buy the harddisk.
Am I overlooking something? aside from the blind loyalty factor?
Firstly at launch it was found that upgrading the ps2 connection wire made DVDs play green.
Secondly after every major console manufacturer has introduced 4 ports to their console Sony stick with 2 ports inorder to make more money off of multitaps.
Thirdly this recent occurence of ps2 drives dying soon after warranty
Beyond this if you scan further down this list you'll find a few ps2 owners who'll admit sony treat their users like mugs.
feel free to add more but thats all i can remember at the moment.

No, it was found hooking it up to illegally record made the screen green.

Yes, they are mean. But they don't think we're mugs - people still buy the multitap, right?

Sony's hardware isn't very well made, but I don't know anyone that's had any problems and I have a circle of about five friends who've had the PS2 since a few months after launch.

Like who? Admit defeat - you are an idiot.

Hardly I wanted to know what sony were doing about online gaming

None of these games i would count as a quality game, sorry but that is the way i see them. I'm thinking along the lines of zelda, halo, mario kart, perfect dark, basically games i come back to. I bought tony hawk on DC an i played it about 5 times, i got a lot more out of RUSH 2049 to be honest.

Rez is interesting, but not worth 30 quid, i saw something like it on the pc a while back, generally i couldn't care less about platformers. somebody gave me mario 64 and i only played it til i'd defeated bowser

Because you yourself have said they do in your postings (something along the lines of (sony don't think people are mugs. the KNOW it). your proving my point by your previous posts.
"sony don't think people are mugs. they KNOW people are"
Try keeping track of what you've said. Currently its like your argueing with yourself. are you schitzophrenic?

They haven't dropped the ball. It's coming out what, a month or two after the Xbox and Gamecube programs?
> Hardly I wanted to know what sony were doing about online gaming
But belittle them along the way, putting over Xbox?

In the UK?

Well then I guess you're in the vast minority. You can't claim that the PSX had no good games because when I list some, you just say "don't like them". YOUR OPINION IS NOT FACT!

OK, what about Gran Turismo 2 and Wipeout 3?

Really? Are you sure...you didn't just...IMAGINE that? I'd like a name to go with that game, please.

So you claim mario is a classic, but you don't like platform games? You CLEARLY ARE AN IDIOT.
And re: me saying Sony KNOW people are mugs...you were using it in the context that Sony think they can do whatever they want by treating owners like dogs...whereas the examples you provided were ones where Sony only did it because they can and have. Me saying they could sell at £500 was illustrating the power of the brand, akin to saying Matrix Reloaded could just be two hours of a blank screen and it would still gross $300m+.

Firstly welcome to the forum. Nice to see someone new who can argue their point with proper use of the english language and without being a mong about it.
Remember the start the XBox got off to?
Extra £30 for the DVD remote?
Some units scratching disks?
and I'm sure there are more.
Your points may be valid but there are two sides to every argument and the XBox has a number of flaws as well.
As FM pointed out there are a number of points about the PS2 network that only certain people know. As for the whole point of your post. First person shooters.
You would be much better with a PC :-P
But in a more serious way, give it a chance to take off first before passing judgement on the lack of FPS and even at that it may not be your kind of thing the other games that are there but I know they sure will appeal to others.

sounds like they dropped the ball

Currently i'm not a big fan of sony, but if they had something really good in the pipeline, (insert GTA online example again)

I believe so Unreal has 'downloadable content' on the back for a reason

Neither is yours, i wouldn't say PSX had no good games, doom link up was a good idea for example, i'm just saying they paled compared with what Nintendo offered ie higher quality gaming

Nope you see 2049 had GOOD multiplayer, death match, 'stunt' mode and crazy race tracks

I think it was part of some kiddies music package, it was like an early rez, i'll get back to you on that.

CLEARLY YOU ARE THE IDIOT. did you see the second word after 'mario'? that's right it was 'kart'. 'Mario kart' get it? different game? you know that Multiplayer thingy thats really good and not the same thing as a one player game that i don't like?
And it still stands that you said 'Sony don't think people are mugs. They KNOW they are'. and i'm afraid it wasn't where you were discussing brand loyalty it was where you were saying most playstation users just get one to play fifa. So I really am at a loss at where you were going with this one. I think you should look back about 6/8 posts and actually READ what you have said
won't happen again, ill edit quoted stuff better next time, i'm still getting used to the 'post letter in reply' option and i over looked some stuff that should have been edited. Once again sorry

Fact: most casual gamers buy PS2 and play Fifa. That's what I was saying.
Fact: Sony's brand is so powerful they could sell the machine at £500 and still win the console war
Fact: They didn't have four ports for the PSX and that sold brilliantly, so didn't bother with the PS2.
That's where I went (not am going).
