There are two ways of looking at this....
1) Your personal view, which is totally valid. If you can only see two game worth owning, £130 is a lot of money to lay out.
2) The real-world situation. XBox costs more to make than they sell it for, so in a purely economical sense, that is good value. It has to be otherwise they wouldn't sell any.

I have played or at the very least researched the games I have commented on and from this I have deducted that I wouldn't like Dead Or Alive Volleyball. I haven't heard a good thing said about it - just things about the shallow gameplay and the like.

Which game are you referring to? Project Gotham Racing? In that case, it's completely different. Project Gotham Racing 2 will be, lets face it, Project Gotham but much, much improved - and because I'll get Moto GP3, F-Zero and Mario Kart inbetween then, I can wait.

I use the wise words of GamesTM - who have never sent me the wrong way in the past :D.

Which games are you referring to? I really like Timesplitters 2.
Its like me saying "I won't get Metroid Prime I will wait for the sequel?!" If a game is a MUST purchase then why wait the sequel which is 1 year + away? You can get the game online for £15 and it is worth every penny. Reviews are just one persons opinion at the end of the day and although I use them for background information I would rather make my own mind up about the games. If you buy a game like TimeSplitters 2 and then dismiss games which are a LOT better then maybe you should have saved you money and pre-ordered some GC titles for later this year.
> Deathrow - Haven't heard of, could you elaborate?
> Project Gotham Racing - I'll get the sequel.
> Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding - Average.
> Buffy: Vampire Slayer - Alright, but Indy's a better alternative.
> Jet Set Radio Future - Didn't like the first one. Am looking into.
> Dead or Alive 3 - Soul Calibur 2 will be enough for me.
> Blinx: TimeSweeper - Average.
> Mech Assault - Poor.
> Splinter Cell - Might get on GC (extras).
> Ghost Recon - Poor.
> Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball - Poor.
> Crazy Taxi 3 - Poor.
> Gun Valkyrie - Haven't heard of, more info?
> House of Dead 3 + GUN - Poor.
> Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - Alright, buy not something to spend money on.
> Panzer Dragoon Orta - Am looking into.
> Max Payne - Had on PS2, might get now it's gone cheap.
> Indiana Jones - Am looking into.
> Mav you shouldn't have wasted your money if you think there are only 2

I got an Xbox, primarily for the future releases - KOTOR, Deus Ex 2, Operation Flashpoint, Project Gotham Racing 2, Moto GP3, Halo 2 and the like. Morrowind's big enough to keep me occupied for now, and Halo's quite good too. I wouldn't have got the Xbox for £130 - but it was a steal at £95 with extras.
I knew I didn't like the existing selection of games, and can't afford to spend money on poor or average games like Blinx: Timesweeper as I just don't have the money. As I own all three consoles - I must only buy the must haves on each. However, if someone didn't own all consoles - it may be a different matter.
> If you think that Halo and Morrowind are the only games worth getting an
> Xbox for then you clearly haven't looked into other titles.
I've actually seriously looked at almost every game that might be worth getting on Xbox - I got the 100 Greatest Games mag with 20 demos, and bought about five magazines and borrowed a few off friends. I know what I'm talking about :D.
> I know you will counter my list with excuses but the fact is they are
> all great games.
Hohum.
> How exactly has adding Halo lowered the overall average?
It hasnt. First was 81.2% then add Halo you got 81.926% see its increased ever so slightly.
Halo-95%
Average game score-81.926%
