Cannon Fodder was released many years ago a major uproar occurred especially with the subheading being: War has never been so much fun (this game has been recently re-released on the Gameboy Color). Who was to know that 20 years down the line weíd be playing a game where you play a man who steals peopleís cars and randomly beating up and shooting innocent pedestrians? The above might (and should) seem very disturbing to you but some of you will remember killing someone in Perfect Dark, one of the guards who had given up, shaking in fear pleading for you not to hurt him and as you force a bullet into their head theyíll scream ìI donít want to dieî as they fall to the floor.
But Realism is increasing, Star Wars games such as Rogue Leader and Obi Wan are starting to finally look like itís film counterparts, GT3 is extremely close to real life driving it is unbelievable. Soon weíll be able to see the look on someoneís face as we extinguish his/her life, we might see tears roll down the cheeks of a dying victim. Could realism go to far?
Is this the future?
Dringo.
You reckon Cannon Fodder was out in 1981!??!
It was out on the Amiga, early 90's mate!
Secondly, nice post and let me add some of my magical words of wisdom to intrest the audience ;)
You must admit, we've come such a long way in such little time from those days where you'd see the strings holding the girl in the air (The Exorcist) to nowadays where you can see bullets fly through the air, Dinosaurs roam the Earth and Aliens try to conquer it.
But the gaming industry is slightly different, once again it has done the same with all the flash things that can now be done. But what you must remember is taht Graphics aren't eveyrthing, and although it must be number two most important factor of the game, it doesn't actually make it.
If games go to the stage where no longer could they get any better and the level of content was up to the same degree of your 'Game' then I think the gaming industry would come to a shut down ;)
Its nice to see that you are back on your feet, not posting crap anymore.
Well, your last comment. Yes, I think realism could go this far, but in the next 10-20 years.
It would have to be perfected and then perfected again. This is something that we may see in VR pretty soon.
Killing children, whats the world coming too?!
Its coming to VR my friend... VR.
