Now don’t get me wrong – ‘toon rendering is a great technique, and we’ve all seen how well it’s worked in The Wind Waker – but I can’t help feeling that once the novelty has worn off, we won’t all be cheering for Nintendo’s new art. What they did with the graphics – it made TWW unique and it seems to me that that was part of the greatness. With a sequel, it could end up feeling just like an expansion pack.
Part of Ocarina Of Time’s excellence was that you were this warrior/hero guy who wielded a sword and fought evil – a feeling that couldn’t quite be created as well in TWW. I was really hoping for a detailed, realistic and varied world in the next game – but it seems that it is not to be. Ah well, I suppose we got over the fact that MM and Mario Sunshine didn’t quite feel quite as new as their predecessors, and besides, Nintendo may well surprise us.
Ok. Graphical rant over. What I really want to see in the new Zelda is originality on a broader scale – with perhaps a much more different storyline (who wants to banish Ganon *again*?). While TWW was full of innovations (a trend that manages to continue through the series), there’s no denying that it was rather similar to Ocarina Of Time. Somehow. I just can’t put my finger on it at the moment.
So that’s my opinion on the graphics and ideas. Discuss.

Hmm... where might it go...
Surely anything other than a Link on a quest for the master sword, pulling it out sword-in-the-stone style and bringing Ganon back into the picture, surely anything other than that would be a pap way to resume the ganon cycle?
But that's getting a little far ahead. As for the next, I'm not sure if doing away with the sea would be the best idea - perhaps a Morrowind style approach (one huge land mass, with islands off the side you can sail to). Yes, much more side quests and the return of a horse would be good. Dungeons aren't the greatest things in the world, I think TWW had just about enough. There should be more characters to build relationships with too - like Malon in OOT.

Hahaha
That's a good one.
:-D

Include a hut which displays all of your catches nailed to a plaque with a button which engages a big mouth bill bass singing event.

No boats and sea, nice for one game but wouldn't really be nice in a 2nd. A dry land overworld is a must
No Gannondorf, I want a new main enemy type person this time round.
Even better combat engine, Wind waker's rocked but I want to see the weapons that other enemies drop, actually coming in useful. Maybe the ability to keep some of them in your bag so you have a larger choice of weapons each time you fight.
100's of side quests again.
The return of Epona or any horse would do really.
Tons of dungeons.
Return of the fishing mini game, just 10 times better and with a lot more different types of fish to catch.
And tons of other stuff.
So what are you guys expecting to see in the new game then?
