The Square developers were rushed to put the game out that they just left that bit, they were actually going to put a revive cure for Aeris. It was going to have something to do with the sick guy in the tunnel in Sector 7 (correct me if im wrong) slums. They were going to get Cloud to cure him and he would give you a cure to bring back Aeris.
And if anyone should of died in FFX it should have been all of them, the story sucked.

If any FF character should have been killed off it should have been Rikku. Early in the game. And painfully.
