But Auron is probably the best of them all ... in terms of coolness. That bit in the Blitzball stadium when Anima appears - quality.

Yeah, please don't let some irritating American losers do the voices, that always ruins everything. Like Tidus and Rikku ... ugh. Although Auron was, indeed, good, so there we go.

The Japanese voices are usually good it's just when they take it to the western audience and get some whiny annoying gets to do the voices is when it goes downhill.
Though the Nippon Ichi games have had great Japanese and English voice actors.

Debatable. Solid Snake gets a lot of his character from the way his voice sounded.
It also helped make characters like Seymour that much more hateable.

Thats true i think. Voice acting on FFX proved that!, Coin , Vivi was an amaing character. See all the little Vivi's at the end of the game? Pure magic.
