The game forums are closing, so i am moving the popular FF forum here. No spamming, just 100% FF. Let's start with a question.... which of the FFs is the best?

Doubt it...the thing with FF4,5 and 6 was that they have been released in America on the PS1 FOR AGESSSSSSSSS....except their bundling was slightly different -they had chrono trigger and FF4 as one package and FF5 and 6 as the other...it's a shame they didn't release chrono trigger over here cos it's brill.

I love ff8 but I find it impossible to have a favourite ff. FF8 had the juntioning system which I have mastered but found equally as good as ff7 and ff9. The card games in ff8 and ff9 arent in ff7 but ff7 has the gold saucer and chocobo breeding.

One of the big reasons for ff being so good is that each is unique and different. If every ff was the same we wouldnt have such things as card games. Asking me to pick my fav ff is impossible. ff8/ff9 have better graphics but then its based on realism whereas ff7 is more cartoony animation. Once I have finishedmy exams I'll put my case forward as to why each ff should be your fav.

why does being a girl mean that you like FF8 better than FF7? I am a girl and I like FF7 better, although that may be because that was the first one I played. I did get a bit addicted to the card game on FF8 though. I'm hopeing that FFX mini game is as good. I have just bought the new releases of 4, 5 and 6 and I can't wait to get stuck into them, until I can afford 10 anyway.

Broke down & bought a copy of FFA. It's so annoying... when you've played the SNES version of FF2(4) a hundred times or more, the buttons are reversed...

And the characters are what made FF2(4) for me, now they've changed all the dialogue boxes, and with them, the characters... they're just not the same. Aside from some additional (but pretty worthless, or worse) items and movements, everything else is identical.

As for FF5, it isn't so bad now but the SNES version required a kanji dictionary in one hand; fortunately there was a one-handed 3rd-party Japanese controller for the SNES, something I'm wishing I had now for the PS1. This was stunning for its time, but it was almost a regression from FF 5 to 6.

What I want to know is this: Are we going to see an "Anthology II" with FF 2 and 3 (the originals released only in Japan), along with possibly FF1 (a NES port)?

It is not advised to use cheats on FF games as it takes all the fun, the sense of achievement and invincibilty when you woop omega weapon for example, or finally find all the right items for Squalls Lionheart blade (i think, too long since i played it, or was that the name of his final limit??).
Thats just my view of course. Anyway Im having my COUNTDOWN TO FFX, on May the 24th forum. So join me why not FF FANS and lets all get excited till friday that is. HEHEHE.

I know I posted this elsewhere but heres probably the best place to ask, does anyone know about the bradygames strategy guide for final fantasy 9, how does it differ from the piggyback one? Do you have to go to playonline.com to find the secrets? The piggyback one is readily avaliable, but in the past Ive always bought Brady Games books, so Im wondering if its worth oredering(I cant find it anywhere).

Also does anyone know if the AR2 V2 features codes for any of the final fantasy games - I preder to cheat - that way I get through the stories quicker, and after all they're the only things that matter.

I don't have a favourite FF.

Each one has some parts which are thoroughly joyful to go through, others are frustrating as losing footy to Bulgarians. Each one has pros and cons, but they are equal in my peaceful happy land.

i might get it depending on reviews...i don't care about the kiddie element as long as the gameplay is good.
also what does everyone think of squaresoft's c**kup concerning the release of FFXI...having very limited number of copies...getting disconnected a lot...people have problems with registering...let's hope they get it sorted out.
and also we might not even get FFXI!! not that would be outrageous!

i can't see the appeal of Kindom Hearts only for a few little kids. And Disney gets on my nerves *shudders*

they've just added new fmvs for each one..at beginning and end
i found that FF5 took quite a long time to move in and out of the battle screen...and also it just went quite slowly...FF4 is good though
