The game forums are closing, so i am moving the popular FF forum here. No spamming, just 100% FF. Let's start with a question.... which of the FFs is the best?

I'm really against chipping as well which is why i decided to get one imported (after winning an auction).
well you wouldn't believe it but i've had it for about 2 weeks and i haven;t played it! i could have played it last weekend but when i took it home i forgot to bring back my stepdown adaptor...so i couldn't (don't want my ps1 to blow up now do i!). i board so i don't go home much and i don't really want to be playing it here anyway with exams and all.
i haven't had an exam but next week i'll be having 5 exams in 4 days which is a nightmare. These A2s do matter to me cos i need 2 As and a B to get into my first choice uni.
i'm really looking forward to playing FFT and FFX once i get home for half term.
i'm also planning to get chrono cross, parasite eve 1, legend of mana and xenogears for my new ps1...which are all surprise surprise...SQUARESOFT rpgs never released in europe

Now, I really really REALLY object to market segregation, making it almost necessary to chip consoles (and DVD drives) in order to play the games and genres you want rather than those that the powers that be (Sony, Nintendo, et al) want to make available in your corner of the world.

As for FFT, I understand it will be made available on (apologies to Sony aficionados here...) Game Boy Advance, sometime in the not-too-distant future, early 2003 is being suggested.

I'm soooooo jealous. I would love to be able to play FF Tactics, but I refuse to have my PS2 chipped as I really really really object to import games and DO NOT want my machine to be capable of playing them. So until they devolp a chip purely for imports I'm stuffed.

Hope your exams are going alright, this is my first year with out any which feels great!

So what is FFT like, I heard it is a bit like Vandel Hearts but with better story bits.

Picked my FFX up last night, will play this weekend me thinks.

Dunno why though, since I couldn't get into FFVII at all, but I'm willing to give the franchise one last try...

9 was my favourite, although as mentioned it is probably due to it being my first of the FFs.

I've got 9 too, but I can't seem to get into into it. The characters are all too cute, and the card game is irrelevent to the rest of the game, unlike 8 where cards yeild useful stuff. May tackle it again after the others.

That would have been an excellent lineup. However I don't see any reason why they couldn't bundle FF 4/5 on the same CD. For that matter, all of them (FF 1-6 and Chrono Trigger which was, and remains, an excellent game) could easily fit on one CD, especially as the aesthetics aren't at all being "updated" for the PS1.

Question: If this is the "European Edition", why do we still have to put up with American spelling?!?
