ok we all know that everyone in here is ps1 and ps2 fanatics. I am going to ask u guys a difficult thing to do.
I want u guys to name decent things about the gamecube. Even though its not out here yet do you reckon it will challenge the ps2 for its crown?

The game cube looks promising but I dont want it to dethrone the PS2 but as it will be starting off with a cheaper price I might get it
dunno doubt it unless it wins the "wars"

the japanese may feel a loyalty towards nintendo or sony seeing as their japanese plus also they'll get the games on both those systems first instead of having to wait for x-box releases like we have to with PS2 or Gamecube so the x-box might not do well over there

Gc looks like the only cometition for Ps2 as the xbox doesnt look like its going to do well in Japan. Thats because if consoles do well their that means they sell in millions infact they have consumed more Ps2s than any other market.

The GC looks like getting the best Star Wars game ever!! Rogue Squadron was the one game that tempted me into pre ordering the machine!!
Other games that caught my attention: Star Fox Adventures, Smash Bros Melee, Wave Race and the Res Evil remake!! The console should be a great success!!

i like how people keep saying oh look at all the sequels the PS2 has. and then go on to moan why can't the PS2 get anything original well they seem not to notice the major culprit of sequels and other tie in games are nintendo by far. how many different mario games have we had must be approaching 30 different things by now, mario world, mario golf, mario paint, mario RPG loads of different things then the pokemon farnchise pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, crystal, stadium, stadium 2.
you see nintendo does loads of sequels so why don't anyone say anything bout that. i couldn't care less what number a games got in front of it as long as it's good. i wonder if all these people complaining bout sequels on PS2 are complaining bout 2 certain games called MGS2 and GTA3 probably 2 of the greatest games of all time.
same for nintendo if mario 368 is good enough and got enough changes then i would buy it the number of the game ain't a factor

It's probably just my way of thinking, but I think games for handhelds should be cheaper. There's certainly no way that a handheld game should be MORE than a 'real' console game.

Less sophisticated, less development time, etc. And, if the figures are to be believed, higher sales, too. All should amount to a lower price. It's also part of the reason I don't like handhelds - I don't think they're value for money.

Wookiee, why?

What has the price of GBA games got to do with the price of 'Cube games?

Well, if GBA games are £31.99 at SR prices, either 'cube games will be over £40 or GBA prices will drop when the 'cube is released.

I'll put a fiver on the fact that GC games are more expensive than PS2 games, even with SR prices.

If you can't afford PS2 games, there's not much point getting a 'cube, surely, as the games won't be that much cheaper - if at all.

GBA games are pretty much the same price as PS2 games, and I can't see 'cube games being cheaper.
