"We need a website"

Right. The web design forum here needs a website, for posting all sorts of advice, links, news etc. A "community" website. It should be interactive and fully display the best of our skills. So:

Coding - Me, cjh and ajh. Basically anyone who can.

Site design and layout - Reaper and Tyla. You guys work together on it. Give me a final layout as a Fireworks file and I'll take it from there

Content - Andy/Bob, and everyone else here

We need some webspace, I'll get some at Freedom2Surf once their servers come back online. They're a very good server for what we want to do. If anyone else wants to help out, that's great.

Any more suggestions would be welcome.

I think it would be easiest if someone made a template webpage and then we split off into different divisions. Me and Phil (Reaper[oV]) are going to do the hardware section, and I'm contacting some suppliers now about reviews. I say we should have scripting sections, html sections, php sections, that kind of thing.

As this was Rob's idea, I think he should give us the thumbs up on this one.

Make us rich? £1 a game? We'd need to sell loads of games!

How about a site where we sell computer games, and we buy the games off of SR and sell them at £1 above SR's prices?

There are enough mugs in the world to make us rich!!!!

Also it would requiretaking the server down again which we do not want to do.

I expect it places a huge load on the resources of the server and Freeola might not want it.

Could that not be added to the Freeola Users Server??? For us to use???

If we had our own server we could install the pspell module into PHP. This has a built in spell checker. Never used it but am told it works very well.

Are we aiming at just Freeola Users?

we might as well just do a fun site for us.
