It arrived this morning, sadly no TMB online + adapter yet but I am not bothered. I have just com[;eted the firstlevel on Socom with overall grade of D. I love tapping circlethen team then regroup.

I ordered the cables for the adapter last night, got next day delivery, so hopefully, and I mean hopefully it will get shipped today and arrive tomorow with TMB Online + adapter.

Socom is amazing in single player.

Yep, definitely ethernet. And just to be sure I'm not misleading you, you still need to create the network settings on your memory card, via the network access disc, before you can connect. But that's just four or five questions (that are usually yes/no answers).

The lead connects from the modem to the back of the computer so it shouldn't be a phone lead. We have seperate lines so i'm pretty sure it's not

Col, you take off the PC case and then slide it into a free slot.

Lalakers, I just realised that description below also covers a phone cable. It's only ethernet if it connects to the computer side by the connector you described (it's bigger than a standard phone plug)

NTL is that the internet provider? If it is then no i'm with Telewest so i'm am i alright then, i'll just be able to plug in and play?

How do I install the NIC when it comes? Does it hopefully just slide in the back of the PC?

Just a question which is probably pretty obvious to all you experienced guys on here but i know squat about the technical side of computers, i use it just for the internet and playing games as this question will probably show

So are ethernet cables the ones with that little plastic casing that has a sort of switch thing on top of it that you can depress when inserting it into your modem? (if you know what i'm on about) If so i'm alright as i have that sort of modem for my broadband.

If you have an ethernet modem then you do just need to buy the adapter and plug it in.

Lots of people have had no problems, but it's because there are a few different ways of connecting that all this confusion happens.

I'm totally confused now after reading this topic and looking at the review of the Adapter on this site.
On there it says all you need to do is put the adapter in the back, connect the cable that is supplied with it to your computer and off you go, whereas on here i need it seems about 2 or 3 different cables all connected in a certain way and have to go through a complicated set up procedure.

It's really put me right off buying the Adapter tomorrow now.
