Ok, I fully expect to get slammed for this topic and feel free to, I can offer no defence except the following reason:

I bought the Destiny's Child album today, and it's fantastic.
Sorry.

If me buying the CD enables them to make more videos, then I have done a service for mankind.
And, the songs are excellent. "Bootylicious" - pure sex.

AND they can sing.
I heard them do accapella and they can cut it live with no production.

I like this CD a lot.

*gets out inlay card once more and nods*
Yep, they got it going ooooooooooooooon

Sometimes.
I just fancied taking a day off from being "Mr Must-Right-The-Wrongs" and listening to music that doesnt try to do anything other than float your boat.

Being politically active and morally outraged about everything is all well enough, but times are you need to just switch off and grin stupidly.
So my major influences:

Music
Bill Hicks
Andy Kaufman

Lovely.

Musical Sex......
Marving Gaye - Lets get it on - you are an android if left unmoved by this track.
Al Green - pretty much anything.
Destiny's Child - bootilicous - top tune
Roberta Flak/Randy Crawford - for when its all gone messy and pearshaped and you need to yowl.

Does that make me a hypocrite?

you were right, rap is now a genre, the lyrics over the top are called mcing, it's been called MCing since Africa bombataa, sadly the new people (MC Neat) waste what talents they have on garage music, no one should have to sing for garage music, it's a great shame.

They say it's rap because thats a more popular name and everyone knows it and thinks it's cool.
have you ever heard the crap that 5ive :D and Lisa Roxan 'Rap' NOO!

Go stand in the corner and stop being so silly.

well your right and wrong, all the latest stuff is put into the 'pop group' because it's popular music, hense the name, the reason it's popular is because the artists are mainstream, they're reprasented by huge record industries and advertising sells records, e.g. Goatboy bought the Destiny's Child album because he heard the tune on the radio and saw them looking lovely on tv. Good advertising.

Most New metal is unleashed onto the public via the pop chart stuff, if it's not there, the record company can't afford it, and the group hasn't been heard of before or isn't rich, or hasn't got an uncle who knows the multimillionaire record producer.

I don't listen to the radio, except for rap shows (westwood, Big ted/Kiss100) I hate new rock music, it sucks. + bands like Hear' Say and Popstars should be shot for saying their part of a band, and singing.

Most underground stuff is never heard of, but that's what I like, pirate radio stations are always good for this, because 'they keep it real' :)

ok, I can't go on.

BIG PROBLEM!!!!

If you purchased this CD, then it could lead to funds for Destiny`s Child bringing out another song for a film. No trouble with that except what if that film turned out to be....

I just find that chart music these days serves as little more than background music.
"Theme-music to shop to" if you like.

Not offensive, just so bland I've forgotten what it was by the time the next song has rolled around.

I used to get annoyed at chart music, but then I just stopped hearing it.
Like the ticking of a new clock, you just get so used to it you can't hear it anymore.

Yes because 5ive often used RAP so well in their POP songs.

That's what you meant, isn't it? ;-)
