Ok, I fully expect to get slammed for this topic and feel free to, I can offer no defence except the following reason:

I bought the Destiny's Child album today, and it's fantastic.
Sorry.

If me buying the CD enables them to make more videos, then I have done a service for mankind.
And, the songs are excellent. "Bootylicious" - pure sex.

AND they can sing.
I heard them do accapella and they can cut it live with no production.

I like this CD a lot.

You know Goaty you have just proved that female artistes who are exceptionally beautiful sell more than not so attractive ones. Which explains he whole Popstars/ model equivalent show. Once they have their 5 models they will stick 'em in a recording studio and have them say words into a microphone, then 'some producers with computers' will mix all their sh**ty tracks into unblemished masterpieces. Hear'say will be forgotten and we will all go and buy the really beautiful people's album of poppy rubbish. Then to prove that beauty sells ITV will send the Emmerdale 'soapstars' family into the studio too and then watch and laugh as their album does a Kevin Rowland (remember him? Dexys Midnight Runners frontman whose solo career began (badly) with him performing in drag at Reading).

The only redeeming feature of Destiny's Child is that they can actually sing and I think they write their own songs. But I wonder, did you buy the album because of the pitch-perfect vocal harmonies and Timbaland beats... or was it because of the racy album cover?

I've always liked them. They don't seem to into the whole 'attitude' thing that all the other Yank singers do. Plus they're hot.

Rap is the vocal style

Hip-Hop is the music

I think that's what Gonzo is saying. I may have it all wrong

That's not what I said at all. Rap is used in Hop Hop, just like I said rap is used in Nu Metal, Garage, Pop etc too. Different styles of rap, yes, but still all rap. Conslusion, rap isn't a genre. It is a style of presenting lyrics just like guitars are a style of presenting the music.
