Winner of a game of his choice - mickey, for his suggestion of a 'Gameaday Receipt' idea, of which many of you suggested, but mickey got their first. Well done, mickey.
Runners up prize of a DVD of his choice goes to Aliboy, for his 'Santa' idea. It's well put and a nice festive idea, so it's definitely worthy of a prize. Congrats.
Thanks to everyone for all your entries, we read them all and found them to be very useful. Peace out, and complaints to the usual address. Cheers
Ali

Extra GAD prize here for those with a creative brain to help us with our marketing and promotions.
1. Don't suggest any alterations to the site design. Don't suggest expensive campaigns.
2. Suggest how we can attract more visitors to the site from within the pages of our Club Magazine and our adverts in the specialist press such as PC Gamer.
3. Remember space is very limited. But you can enter this with something as simple as a change to the wording which we already use.
Below is an example of the type of thing we are looking for:

Treasure Hunt!
Text:
Come to ukchatforums and take part in our treasure hunt and you could be the winner of any game of your choice! Simply follow the clues, find the right threads, and that game could be yours!
Picture:
A pirate, or a treasure chest. Ideally a pirate standing by a treasure chest, with the treasure chest slightly open, and much gold inside it, with the pirate having a peg-leg and a hook hand and an eye patch, and a pirates hat.
Explanation:
First there's the initial 'Treasure Hunt EEGAD' thread, this tells you to find a line in a thread, posted somewhere in the last 24 hours. When you find that line, you simply have to post something in the same thread - though you wouldn't really want to give it away to everyone, so it would be best to try to keep to the thread content! Each day (maybe every other day, or 2 or 3 a week) a new line must found. This will run for a period of time, so that maybe 10 lines in total would have to be found. This will keep people that spotted the first one coming back to find another, and by the time they've found all 10, they'll be hooked!
Once all 10 lines have been searched out, to enter you have to post a list of the thread titles that the treasure hunt line was found in, in the original thread, and have posted in each of the threads that the line was found in.
Sounds a little complex, but as people would have to keep coming back if they wanted to win, it might be effective!

Come to ukchatforums and you may find yourself with an oportunity to get instant deals! If you're amongst the first to post in the instant deal threads that pop up periodically, you'll be offered that deal! You also have the chance to win 2 games and a DVD movie every day of the week in our Gameaday competitions! Come to www.gameaday.co.uk for further details.
Explanation.
During the day, maybe once a day, or less often a thread will appear, started by a staff member entitled Instant Deal! (Or similar) The first person (or number of people) that post in the thread get the opportunity to take up that particular offer.
The offers could vary, such as 10% off ANY software purchase, to ANY GBA game for just £15. Maybe have a hardware special too, Extra 20% off RAM to the first person to post in this thread!
Have terms and conditions that state the 'winner' must take up the offer within a week or something to stop it from becoming too much of an administrative nightmare!
Search the net for peoples game homepages, and email them asking to get on their links page, with a bit saying about the GAD.

Give people more of an incentive to tell their friends. I guess at the moment a reason might be that people dont want to tell people, as it lessens the chances of a gad for them...

Explanation
-----------
People have limited attention spans and will simply flick through adverts in magazines, so you need something big and bold to get their attention. The word/picture association will catch their eye and as there are less words to read, many people will get the idea. Also, having the website address in bold letters after the word VISIT will hopefully imprint this on their brains.

Explanation
Straight to the point, will grab the consumers eye and they will say to themselves, "I want a free game as well". I think if you have an advert, place the most emphasis on actually winning a game.
