Okay, an absolute torrent of entries for this one, it too ka good couple of hours to read them all, and I had to kill several trees for the paper to print them all out, so no moaning about the winners.

Winner of a game of his choice - mickey, for his suggestion of a 'Gameaday Receipt' idea, of which many of you suggested, but mickey got their first. Well done, mickey.

Runners up prize of a DVD of his choice goes to Aliboy, for his 'Santa' idea. It's well put and a nice festive idea, so it's definitely worthy of a prize. Congrats.

Thanks to everyone for all your entries, we read them all and found them to be very useful. Peace out, and complaints to the usual address. Cheers

Ali

Extra GAD prize here for those with a creative brain to help us with our marketing and promotions.

1. Don't suggest any alterations to the site design. Don't suggest expensive campaigns.

2. Suggest how we can attract more visitors to the site from within the pages of our Club Magazine and our adverts in the specialist press such as PC Gamer.

3. Remember space is very limited. But you can enter this with something as simple as a change to the wording which we already use.

Below is an example of the type of thing we are looking for:

Headline
So, what do you say boys?

Explanation

The winner will be the person who makes the suggestion MOST LIKELY to draw in extra visitors. The deadline for entries is the end of October.

Tricky eh?

Caption at the top:

YOU'RE MUST BE STEALING FROM US!!!

Picture:

A child running off with a bundle of top games in his hands, picures of SR staff holding a single note looking rather confused.

All in Cartooon style.

Caption underneath:

Only at Special Reserve

The idea being that SR sell their games at extremely low prices giving customers brilliant deals.

The first caption must be big, bright and bold to catch the attention of potential customers, it's a well known fact that people flick through magazines so this will grab their attention and the littel text to read will mean they will no doubtedly read it because their isn't much and that way the message will get through easily.

If the change of direction is acceptable, what lots of companies seem to be having success with is getting existing customers to bring in their freinds, family etc.

SR could work it as such:
If an existing customer were to refer a new customer to the company, who then bought membership and a product (ie, to be entitled to a free gift), the member who referred them here could also chose a free gift.
Maybe it'd need a cheaper selection of gifts to be economical, I'm sure you guys are more than capable of handling the details.

Also, how about a word of mouth reward system. Not many of my friends around here that are into computer games have easy net access, but I try to get them to come. I know we have a few people on here that are from the same parts of the country, but I'm sure more could be encouraged.

If you offered the people who are already here something for spreading the word to there friends and so on, that might bring more people here.
Say if someone mentions me when signing up to SR, then you could give me something for bringing you customers (I'm not talking about games, but Reddies or something?)

This would also push the interst in Reddies up thus acquiring you more members and more sales.

I'm a genius!
(or that might be the most stupid plan ever, I don't know?)

You really want to push the Gameaday competition in peoples faces. Its what gets people here, its not what keeps them here, but it helps establish a link.
Announcing that you can get something for nothing will often bring people to you. Too tired to word stuff for you.

Get quotes from GAD winners explainging the straight forward, no strings attached competition and stuff!

"Its amazing, I just turned up and chatted to someone about Iron Monkey, next thing I know they want to give me any DVD of my choice for my contribution..."

That sort of thing. If people look at your add and think "There'll be a catch" then there less likely to come.

A Picture of empty quiet street or somwhere were people usually are but there are none in the picture, an empty hospital ward with unmade beds could be good too.
