So, The PS3 is out (and still in the shops now).

Did you get one? Do you have an import? Or are you not interested because of the price/you're broke/can't be bothered?

Now all 3 Next-Gen consoles are finally out, we can actually settle back and see which one will come out top, but until then, anyone go to a launch or early opening?

If I had a thousand pounds then I'd probably get a PS3 and TV.

That would be sweet.

Looks like Sony are offering another deal. If you've got a PS3 then registering for the online account will net you a free copy of Casino Royale on Blu-Ray.

That sounds like a really good deal actually.

Edit:- A quick look on ebay shows that some idiots are trying to sell them for £850 buy-it-now without a game. Why would you bother?

The price shouldn't be as much of an issue as it was. I'm looking around and it appears certain people who bought 5 or 6 have realised that they're screwed because of the lack of demand and are selling them as new for around the £300 mark.

Ive never bought a console at launch. The games are usually rubbish and the price is too expensive. That goes for every single console ever released (at least as far back as I can remember). I don't know why people are surprised. There is always a bumpy change over period. There are plenty of decent titles on the PS2 that are still interesting to me. God of War 2, FFXII (I still havent bought it yet) and the new Tomb Raider in a couple of months and maybe a few others, plus there are a few titles I already own and am yet to complete. The 360 has been out for ages and still doesnt have any titles that interest me more than the current batch of PS2 titles. Now that the new consoles are all out, developers will start to shift their focus from current-gen to next-gen. New decent titles for PS2 and XBox will become increasingly rare as decent titles for the new consoles will start to sprout up. All it will take it a couple of decent ideas to emerge in order to wet peoples appetites and in the unlikely event that non emerge, then I'll just stick to my PS2 and DS.

I'd prefer Gamer TV to just be an hour show rather than all this guide crap. Still beats G@mers though. Incidently, did you notice Rapture TV isn't there anymore?

Heh, just Watching GamerTV and Sony've decided to wheel out the employee who sounds most like he's barely entered puberty to try and sell the PS3 to Bravo viewers. No conviction, no enthusiasm, surprised he's not looking at his shoes to be honest: hilarious. :D

Masters of marketing? My ass!

Yep, I expect they'll be effectively skipping a generation. The PS3 has obviously been built to last a long time so when Ninty and MS release their new consoles expect Sony to simply keep supporting the PS3 for quite some time before we see a PS4.

It's certainly a gamble and if they get absolutely creamed this time then they might be forced to push out a PS4 ASAP. That of course would only come from the PS3 being an absolute disaster and I'm sure we'll see a decent re-design of the PS3 before that happens
