Somewhere in the region on £800.
Now I am taking my girlfriend to Paris, buying a fridge (possibly the little one from SR) and adopting a loris from London Zoo.
But that leaves me with about £500 at least to spend, if not £600.
So should I get an Xbox?
I already have Splinter Cell on GC and any mulitformat games I would just buy on that.
Should I use some of my money on an box?
Xbox
Jet Set Radio Future
Halo
Project Gotham Racing
Xbox LIVE
Midtown Madness 3.
Morrowind.
Get them for now. And then when you get more pimp cash (you sick mofo) get more games. MORE.
And nice reply Ali. ;)
I don't know if any of you actually read my Halo 2 preview which I did. I am not popping Synae as such but here is the link specifically to my Halo 2 preview. In there I have talked about everything you should expect from the game and there should be some stuff you weren't aware of before. Its definitley my most anticipated Xbox game and without a doubt a massive blockbuster hit next year. The link is:

There are quite a few games I am looking forward to. Due to the fact that my PC runs like Rick Waller I don't even have the system capabilities to run something as simple as C&C Generals. All of the FPS games I am looking forward to are the ones you are fully aware of. Doom 3, Deus EX 2 and Half Life 2 I will be picking up on the Xbox. With the Dolby Digital hassle free gaming style it doesn't bother me that the PC version will have a higher screen resolution.
Other than the FPS games I am looking forward to quite a few other games from other genres. Project Gotham Racing is my favourite racing game of all time so the second one with LIVE support, more cars, bigger single player and newly refined backgrounds is high on my priority list. The Dead or Alive series didn't interest me before I picked up Dead or Alive 3. I have clocked over 100 hours in the survival mode and its the best fighting game out there at the moment in my opinion. Dead or Alive 4 so far looks breath taking to say the least and with the updated bundle of the first 2 games all designed with Xbox hardware I am quietly looking forward to whats one offer there. I will finally gets to beat Tilta over LIVE for thinking Jerry Bruckheimer sucks ;)
WWE RAW 2 so far looks absolutley mint. I don't know if you saw the article on SR a couple of weeks a go regarding the new modes and what is expected. The first RAW lacked in too many departments to make it a worth while £30 + purchase. I picked it up for £9.99 new and for that money there is plenty of enjoyment to be had. RAW 2 however has been on my priority list for quite some time now. The 4 player season, faster game engine, updated create a wrestler mode, hell in a cell + TLC matches along with full custom sound track support and a bang up to date roster including classics like Ultimate Warrior should help to make it one of the finest and least expexted blockbusters of this year.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic will be a on my list as well. It looks like there is finally going to be a truly stunning Star Wars game releasde on consoles. Rogue Leader 3 should add to that when it is released on the Cube however they will be 2 games of the same nature focusing on completely different side of gaming. I will be giving Galaxies a skip because I am not paying the rip off £6 + a month fees to play it online across LIVE.
Crimson Skies is another title which I am keeping a close eye on. Featuring an brilliant air combat game engine and full LIVE support it looks like its going to be one hell of a game. I am not sure if you are aware of this game but it looks like its going to be the first air combat game on a console worth buying. Very original ideas, some stunning visuals and from all accounts its going to play like a dream. Its pencilled in for a September release so its one you may want to consier looking at on IGN.
One game I have waited months and months for is Operation Flashpoint XB. I know that you are a fan of the PC original and this is why you may be interested in this one. The game is going to be sent with the Resistance add on pack built in. On top of that the graphics engine has been completely re-hauled to take full advantage of Xbox hardware. The release date is currently September however I have been following this game since last August and all there is at the moment are a few lousy screen shots. Codemasters have stressed the game will be released this September and to be honest I can't wait!
A few other games I am looking forward to are Amped 2, RalliSport 2, BC, Fable and Dead Mans Hand. The first two are personal favourites as I enjoyed the first games of both series'. BC and Fable however are completely different as they have got me interested every since they were announced. Mr. Freak gave you a link to Fable however IGN do have some stuff on BC worth reading. It looks like Jurassic Park meets Hitman which is definitley something to keep an eye on. The videos and information given out so far have certainly given the hype some justice. Dead Man's Hand is just a simple FPS game set in the Wild West. So far very few details have been given out about it but from what has been said about the game so far it could end up beign a sleeper hit!
There are a few other games I am looknig forward to and when I remember what they are I will add more information about them.
Hope this helps!
Check out Midtown Madness 3 aswell.
Does that mean there will be less aliens?
I don't like aliens.
Xbox LIve play is what i'll be buying it for.
> My PC isn't great
I suppose its upto you. I'm getting a beefy PC soon to be able to play all the RTS titles with no problems/slowdown (Big RTS fan here). I'll probably be getting the PC version of HL2.
But think of the exclusive titles.
THINK OF THEM.
Halo 2 - Imprint that in your memory.
1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Amazing looking freeform RPG set in the Star Wars universe 4000 years prior to Episode 4: A New Hope. Learn up to 22 force powers, choose your fighting style (weapons/lightsabres/two sabres/double-sabre/etc) and companions, as well as participating in numerous side-quests and walking the fine line between the dark and light side of the force. Sensational.
2. Deus Ex 2: Invisible War
Sequel to revolutionary FPS that blends RPG and adventure elements with the usual format, alltogether creating a non-linear and incredibly deep experience which, this time, is topped off with some fantastic graphics and animation. Not MUCH is known about this, except for the fact that it's going to be damn amazing.
3. Fable
Extensive, detailed and non-linear RPG that lets the player do just about whatever they want. Much like an improved Morrowind, Fable promises strong character development as you grow from a child into an adult, affecting yourself and the environment around you with every action. It's been in development for ages, and with tonnes of ideas packed in, this is looking excellent.
4. Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy
Jedi Knight 2 tiptoed around being a FPS-cum-RPG with upgrades, secrets and puzzles, but wasn't quite there. This new title is promising to be a whole lot more with freeform gameplay, and much character development as you train to be a Jedi. I expect this will be rather like Deus Ex with a Star Wars makeover; a formula that can't go wrong.
5. Half-Life 2
I think everyone knows about this, so I won't go into it :D.
> What would you guys reccomend?
XBM

Or for Multiformat (Mav's bible) - GamesTM
Don't get the Official mag - Unless you want the demo's - They've turned fanboyish over the past few weeks.
> Thanks for all the help, by the way.
No problem.
