I'm one of the very few who have never bought anything from Ebay, and I don't have a clue how the thing works. So I would like to know if anyone here has bought anything from there, and how payments are made.

I'm looking for Toy Story 2 for either the Dreamcast or Playstation (there is one on ebay just now, but I can't buy stuff till the weekend), and Toy Story for the MegaDrive. If anyone has these and wants to sell them then we can maybe talk, but I would like some advice about Ebay.

Thanks in advance.

Its best to use recorded delivery - that way the item that you send is recorded on the royal mail computer.

Oh and thanks Bell - I put the auction up again without the mention of "import" or anything so hopefully eBay will ignore it.

And I got one of those postal booklets today - Very useful.

And cookie - Use a webpage designing program like Frontpage or Dremweaver and make something nice. All my auctions are based around just one table that separated into sections.

What about Postal Insurance. I have made it required instead of optional. Which option is better?

First point out the fact there are more freeloader auctions on, as well as pile of illegal Xbox gear. Realistically though they will just tell you tough luck - such is the danger of eBay's monopoly on online auctions. Also point out Amazon selles the Freeloader.

Realistically, re-edit the listing and list it again without the freeloader.

Trade the freeloader in at Gamestation in Nottingham, if you're close enough, I can't remember if it's you that's near Nottingham or someone else.

Bell - eBay removed my GC listing because of the freeloader.

What the testicle can I do now....

No need, download Turbo Lister from eBay, okay so you won't (I assume) bulk list BUT it does contain an easy to use listing creator that lets you make listings off line then upload them. Ignore what eBay says about needing a card on file to use it 'cause I sue it with no card on file.

The listing creator works like Word or Works so you should have no problems, it's all I use !

The key things (sorry if this sounds stupid);

*Clearly state EXACTLY what someone is bidding on in one sentence, make it bold and in larger text.
*Clearly state postage and that it is non negotiable.
*Clearly state condition
*Encourage people to ask questions - most won't but no harm in seeming open to them.
*Don't use a reserve - in my experience it will detet many people from even bidding.
*don't use too many colours, no more than three, four at most.
*Keep text no smaller than 12 point or 14 point to make it easy to read
*If possible accept Paypal, and don't charge extra for it.

Okay. Thanks, done.

The only reason I put a reserve is because it's Region One and won't go for as much.

Do a post in the Nintendo Forum Gamezfreak, SR don't seem to mind. Had a quick look at your listings and they all read good, you should do well with them.
