I'm one of the very few who have never bought anything from Ebay, and I don't have a clue how the thing works. So I would like to know if anyone here has bought anything from there, and how payments are made.

I'm looking for Toy Story 2 for either the Dreamcast or Playstation (there is one on ebay just now, but I can't buy stuff till the weekend), and Toy Story for the MegaDrive. If anyone has these and wants to sell them then we can maybe talk, but I would like some advice about Ebay.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't actually bid on the US figure, was waiting to see how much postage is - never bid on ANYTHING without knowing the postage. How's the GC stuff doing ?

Troysrus charges $40 shipping for 6 figures. Obviously not the figures you're after, but I'm sure they are the same size and weight. Not only is he trying to rip you off there, but you're likely to get a customs charge anyway. Probably. Or something.

Example of a moron seller. Someone in the US has a figure I want, so I send a question to him asking what postage is to uk, this is the reply;

"Shipping to the UK is $65 and we use UPS."

Because I'm really going to pay $65 to ship a $15 figure, I think he's scalping the postage somewhat....

:cD Yes, I guess.

I'm happy. With just under 3 days to go, it can only go up. Unless some bids are retracted. Over £35 and I'm laughing.

Doing well for a Region 1 set, don't know whether it helped putting DVD in the the title but it's worth considering how people could find your item when searching, if you think how you'd look for an item and what you'd search for it gives an idea as to what to put in a title. A cheap shot is to put XXX in the title of obscure stuff, gets page views if nothing else...

Unfortunately eBay never give anyone more than a days notice, most commonly I'll go to eBay's front page and it'll be the banner ad the day before or on the day itself.
