Just a thread to discuss snooker if anyone else is a fan like me.

2 sessions on the trot will be a killer for Carter and Selby I expect the standard to drop and it will probably come down to who can survive what will just about be 8 or so hours of continuous playing.

It's nicely poised at 6-6 at the minute and I expect it'll go pretty much all the way.

Yep, fantastic comeback from Murphy. Maybe the pressure of having to win from the position he was in and to get back in the top 16 made it difficult for Stevens but you would expect him to win from 12-7.

Maguire was on fire and he destroyed Hamilton in their last session. Never gave him a shot in the 4 frames they played.

Ronnie in trouble and I don't think Higgins will let him back in. Carter and Selby still playing and looking quite tight. That could go all the way tonight.

Wow Murphy wins 6 on the trot to pip Stevens 13-12 Stevens must be absolutely gutted.

Higgins leading Ronnie 11-5 I can't see a comeback unless Ronnies on top form and Higgins has a shocker.

Maguire just needs 1 more frame to go through so unless Hamilton can emulate Murphy and win 6 on the trot he's out.

All the Quarter Finals are evenly balanced. Murphy 4-4 Stevens, Maguire 5-3 Hamilton, Selby 5-3 Carter and O'Sullivan 4-4 Higgins.

Ronnie back to 3-3 after trailing 3-1 at the interval, think this will be a close match.

The Ronnie vs Robertson session last night was a cracker, some good high breaks along with some great safety exchanges made it one of the best sessions of the tournament so far.

The long potting could have been better but overall the standard was very high.

Made me laugh when Dennis Taylor was going on about Ronnie being "on a 147" and when he got to about 80 he realised he'd taken a yellow and brown at the start of the break :D

I'm pretty certain this is the first world championship i've not watched a frame of since i was 3 years old. My interest in snooker has almost entirely disappeared, says a lot when it used to be my life.

Top stuff from Ronnie. Robertson just lost it a bit in the final session and it was the difference in the end.

Selby knocked out Ebdon, which is a little surprising, and that means we will have 2 different finalists from last year.

Ronnie is now in his 3rd tough game of the World Championships. Ding Junhui, Robertson and now Higgins.

Only roughly 45 minutes in the end. Higgins won his match in 1 frame but Carter needed 3 frames to beat Hendry.

Carter plays the winner of Ebdon V Selby I think.

Heh, the afternoon games could be over in less than 20 minutes.

Selby has a good lead on Ebdon 10-6 into the evening and the Ronnie V Robertson game could go either way now. Good fight back from Robertson.
