Meaning............?
After all, this was the general feeling among most of you when GTA looked like it would never come to Xbox.

Just off the top of my head i can't think of any PS2 games which are now on the x-box, but again, off the top of my head i can think of splinter cell which was only on the x-box then months later it came out for PS2...
Now shutup!

1: GTA is popular and therefore will sell ALOT
2: GTA existed before the PS2

Actually I always said it was the one game that had me coming back to considering getting a PS2.
The controller is too poor though.

Red Faction 2
Hitman 2
Nightfire
Burnout 2
MGS2
TS2
BG:DA
Oh and we get things like Halo and Morrowind too. Doubt they'll be converted to the PS2 though.

'Most of you'.
And the PS2 controller is perfect for GTA; the D-Pad is excellent for driving, and the analogue is perfect for character movement.

Yep. Just distancing myself from the crowd. :)

D-Pad too small, analogue stick placement is seriously outdated now. Basically the console could have done with another, alternative, official controller rather than just a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach from Sony.
The controller is the biggest hurdle for me because, quite frankly, it's not up to scratch compared to the controllers offered by Nintendo and Microsoft.
I'd rather try to play GTA with the single analogue control stick of an N64 pad and use the C-buttons to replace the other analogue.
If Sony churn out the same pad and offer no alternative when the PS3 come round I will not be purchasing it.
