Applying for dev kits is supposed to be very, very easy. Easier than any process before, according to the people that make Galleon.

Don't get your hopes too high Dan. I don't think this announcement is going to be incredibly big...
I don't think it's been fully declared exclusive, it's just not been announced for another system yet.
Squaresoft are meant to be making a big Gamecube announcement this week too.
It looks like Nintendo finally stopped acting like a bunch of big babies and let them devellop for the Cube.
We've got Capcom games (Resident Evil, Streetfighter and hopefully The Devil May Cry), Konami's offerings (ISS and with a big of luck, MGS), Namco (Soul Calibre etc...), Sega (especially with the Sonic Team), and now Squaresoft too.
I think Nintendo's dark ages of limited 3rd party support is over. :-)

Hideo Kojima recently announced that he loves the Gamecube hardware.
I'm hoping that he's planning on giving it his stealth game.
It would nicely complement Perfect Darks first person action.

Remember that demos are specifically designed to make you believe the game is excellent. Don't get too hyped up, you'll regret it.
