Eidos are to stop making software for the GameCube.
Mike McGarvey, chief executive of Eidos, stated that versions for all upcoming Eidos games will be released for the PS2, PC and Xbox but not the GameCube according to Times Online.
Mike McGarvey from Eidos, the second largest developer in Europe, said "The GameCube is a declining business." He also said GameCube sales contribute a small portion of Eidos' overall profits. "If other companies follow us they will have a hard battle to fight."
Not the best of news at all, seing as the they published great games like Timesplitters 2 and Hitman 2, although hopefully if Free Radical make TS3, they'll find a better publisher (Ninty should just buy 'em anyway)

Pfft. Why are they always dropping GameCube, everything and everywhere is slowly dropping it.

*Looks at Tomb Raider sales*
*Looks at licence revenues from the Tomb Raider brand*
Quite a while...
Sure, Free Radicaly could move publisher for TS3, but why ? I don't seriously think they'd accept a buy out by Nintendo unless Nintendo threw huge amounts of money at them, and seeing as, as far as I'm aware, TS games only get a western release I don't think Nintendo will be too hot on that idea. Come to think of it, does TS3 even exist ?
Right, TS2 was made by Free Radical, so, can't someone else publish it still? Like Nintendo. THen they can give us stars with the game.
*Nods*
Timesplitters 2 however needs an Xbox Live enabled sequel.

well sh-iter in my mouth and hold my nose til i swallow, your right!
i said all that because i was pee-assed off with e-diots leaving because i really like TS2 :( *sighs*
I bought my Xbox because of TS2 - the harddisk makes all the difference when a game lets you create countless levels.

Nintendo are probably still living by their old approach of, "We make console to release 'our' games on! If other people want to release games on the machine so be it. But we couldn't care less either way!"
:S
