Eidos are to stop making software for the GameCube.
Mike McGarvey, chief executive of Eidos, stated that versions for all upcoming Eidos games will be released for the PS2, PC and Xbox but not the GameCube according to Times Online.
Mike McGarvey from Eidos, the second largest developer in Europe, said "The GameCube is a declining business." He also said GameCube sales contribute a small portion of Eidos' overall profits. "If other companies follow us they will have a hard battle to fight."
Not the best of news at all, seing as the they published great games like Timesplitters 2 and Hitman 2, although hopefully if Free Radical make TS3, they'll find a better publisher (Ninty should just buy 'em anyway)

There is a clause in Rockstars contract that allows the GTA series to be ported to other consoles providing it dont use the GTA title... in other words Vice City (as it would be known instead of GTA - Vice City) could come onto the Game Cube and theres nothing Sony can do about it, needless to say Sony are not happy about this.

Whose official figures ?
I certainly agree the gap will widen, but not in favour of Nintendo.
Xbox - Counter Strike, KOTOR, PGR2, GTA Double pack, Xbox Live, Fable, and more...anda price drop imminent
VS
Gamecube - F Zero , Mario Kart, Mario Party 5 and ?
Think I know which of those is going to appeal to the older gamers
I'd say Xbox has stuff like Halo 2, Sudeki etc for 2004 but Nintendo also has stuff which over ran it's development i.e MGS, Final Fantasy etc
Plus, if those figures are true, how come it's the Gamecube that has developers and publishers jumping ship ?

Yup, those are the latest official figures - I wouldn't trust anything other if I were you guys. I can see that gap widening possibly thanks to the excellent Christmas Nintendo have coming up.

Must have been a slow business week...
Armed with a solderer people can just develop a PC that is worth about 4x than the price of the xbox.
Someone at the same work as my dad and a friend of my dad is getting an xbox so they can have a cheap powerful PC.

Latest figures I read have the Xbox on 10 million now and the Gamecube on 9.7 million or so. Can't remember the website, but it was one of the tech ones.
Xbox is outselling the GC now though in day to day sales.
