Eidos are to stop making software for the GameCube.
Mike McGarvey, chief executive of Eidos, stated that versions for all upcoming Eidos games will be released for the PS2, PC and Xbox but not the GameCube according to Times Online.
Mike McGarvey from Eidos, the second largest developer in Europe, said "The GameCube is a declining business." He also said GameCube sales contribute a small portion of Eidos' overall profits. "If other companies follow us they will have a hard battle to fight."
Not the best of news at all, seing as the they published great games like Timesplitters 2 and Hitman 2, although hopefully if Free Radical make TS3, they'll find a better publisher (Ninty should just buy 'em anyway)

If True Crime sells well on GameCube, I can see it being quite likely.

Microsoft's, Nintendo's and industry analyst's Reuters.

Counter Strike is an old PC game for christ sake. It's good, I'll grant you, but it will hardly shift consoles. I don't see Xbox Live doing much more than it is already for Xbox sales, Fable won't be out for Christmas and GTA may not have quite the impact you're all hoping for.
And "price drop imminent"? On what grounds? I sure as hell can't see Microsoft dropping the price any lower. Do you have a source?

Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, 1080 Snowboarding: Avalanche, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, Soul Calibur II, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, those three you mentioned and a more likely price drop to boot.
> Think I know which of those is going to appeal to the older gamers
Almost all of them I expect; they're games that should appeal to everyone.

Hold your horses there; isn't it true that both Halo 2 and Sudeki are set for 2004 due to extended development times? I don't know what you're saying here; the way you word it, it sounds like you're saying both the Xbox and GameCube have games in 2004 carried over from 2003 from running over their developments.

Because their games don't sell well on the console. EA, Namco, Capcom and many others have reported excellent sales on the GameCube in the past, more so than the Xbox.
> Fable, and more...anda price drop imminent
Sorry but Counster Strike?? I'll just use a PC!
