Yeah, I've gone a bit mad with the 'classics' threads, but I wanted one for the PC.

So, any old gems you want to share with us?

LBA2 (utter brilliance)

I had duke nukem, still have somewhere, although I don't think it'll work on XP.

Commander Keen, a superb game along with the original Duke Nukem (2D).

I'd think so: I got Sonic 3D and Starcraft working on it, and they've got similar requirements, I think.


However, you won't be able to run classics over DOS, like you can on ME.

does anyone know if grim fandango and the monkey island series will work on XP professional?

I think that you can download extra music from fansites now: My brother managed to download a map based in Kent from a site, so there could be anything.

Or you could add MP3s on WAVs.

I remember trying to add my own music on Transport Tycoon. I'm not sure if it worked or not. It was a long time ago.

Transport Tycoon DLX's an utter classic, although the soundtrack gets very irritating. Great fun, and very easy.

I think the ultimate classic tycoon games are Railroad Tycoon I and Railroad Tycoon DLX, though. Great sounds and Colourful graphics with simple and addictive gameplay. Sid Meier is a genius.

Transport Tycoon and Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Classics. Settlers, Virtual Pool, both very good in my book.
