Yeah, I've gone a bit mad with the 'classics' threads, but I wanted one for the PC.

So, any old gems you want to share with us?

A few I wanted to mention :

Monkey Island 1 + 2. Along with Day of the Tentacle, these were my favourite point and click games of all time. It seems the genre has died now.

Stunt Island. Anyone remember this? You performed stunts in planes, cars, boats, whatever, then filmed them in a professional sort of film studio affair. Crap graphics by todays standards, but I haven't come across a game/utility that gave you such freedom as this yet.

4D sports driving. A lot like that old classic 'hard drivin'. terrible 3d polygon graphics but a lot of fun to play

The DOOM series. Hey, the series is almost a cliché now, but the significance of these games shouldn't be ignored. I think it is true to say this series of games have took up more time than any other, be it playing, designing new arenas, playing multiplayer. superb.

X-Wing/Tie Fighter/X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. The best space combat simulations ever made in my opinion. I hope lucasarts choose to update them for the new gen of PC.

Oh, Timmargh, after visiting your site I am interested in Grim Fandango. I think I'll have a look on e-bay for a copy, as SR don't stock it. Anyone else played it?

Solitaire. Truly a P.C classic.

Seriously I'm not sure. I did enjoy Dungeon(sp) Keeper though. That was pretty good I though.

Transport Tycoon and Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Classics. Settlers, Virtual Pool, both very good in my book.

Transport Tycoon DLX's an utter classic, although the soundtrack gets very irritating. Great fun, and very easy.

I think the ultimate classic tycoon games are Railroad Tycoon I and Railroad Tycoon DLX, though. Great sounds and Colourful graphics with simple and addictive gameplay. Sid Meier is a genius.

Otherwise, I rate this lot highly:
Grand Prix Circuit (1988)
Civilization (1991)
Lemmings (1993)
Mosaics (1985)
Crusher (1992)
Scorched Earth (1991)

Freeola & GetDotted are rated 5 Stars

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
