I havent tried the table matches, but to pull off a double team move you grapple the person, just like no mercy and then the other person grapples them at the same time, then you pull off a move, you can also grab them from behind and press the black button (i think!) and you can hold them so that the other person can clock them or punch/slap them - a lot of the game reminds me of no mercy, which is why i liked it so much.

Spike how easy is it to put someone thorugh a table using The Rock Bottom or a double team move like the 3-D? How are double team moves pulled off? Please let us know.

Right i've been playing it a fair bit and must say, i can't understand where most of the negative reviews come from on the net, the graphics are certainly the best i've seen in action (i havent seen SD5 in person, its probably the most like No Mercy as well, what I really like about it is the fact that the specials are much easier than Raw to pull off, the graphics are very impressive - finally a good use of the blurr when its actually needed, the replays are impressive - the Royal Rumbles are a laugh and i bet you will have many hours of fun playing them. The double team moves are easier to pull off, I liked holding Stone cold and watching the CPU slap him across the face - pure comedy. I have yet to try the TLC + table matches, but the whole game is miles better than Raw, i'll probably trade raw in now as its pants compared to this, plus the 4 player seasons sounds good, shame most of my mates are at uni now, but i'd recommend it if you're into wrestling!

Nope. There's a lot of assumptions back there. :)

I'm judging that from my experience of RAW and factoring in the changes they've made plus what Spikecast has said considering he has also played the original.

To be honest though the info I've had on Wrestlemania X9 was very vague, IGN's review was vague and this set me thinking that it wasn't going to be up to the standards of No Mercy/RAW as they didn't exactly rave about it.

I know they've tried to make X9 more No Mercy-like but I already know how No Mercy-like the RAW engine is.

Considering they've thrown in some more match types for RAW 2 and a good load of weapons, but don't have the backstage arenas, RAW 2 looks to be the nearest thing to No Mercy.

Was going to rent it today however I nipped up to GAME and got the Pro Evoluton 3 demo instead. Looks fantastic though and I am getting rid of Smackdown 4 and the original RAW to fund for it.

I'd say equal. In the original RAW there's no backstage areas unlike in No Mercy and I think RAW 2 doesn't have any back stage areas either. The way raw plays is like a more fluid No Mercy, there's a lot more collision detection (For instance if someone's climbing through the ropes you CAN hit them and knock them down - unlike in No Mercy.

In RAW 2 they've thrown in all the matches you'd be used to in No Mercy (except possibly Iron Man, although that could be in RAW 2 aswell).

The main attraction of RAW 2 for me is the new match types and the 4 player story mode.

I'd say on the Next-Gen consoles RAW 2 is the closest thing to No Mercy.

damn, it's out today? every site i've looked at in the past few weeks (eg: woolies, hmv, sr) has had the 10th down as a release date. i had wrestlemania and no mercy on n64 and i had such a blast with them.

i'm not a wrestling fan, but i love beating the chedder out of people with steel chairs, 2x4s, baseball bats etc etc etc.is it better than No Mercy? equal to it? is there a demo of it available?

after playing a few games i like it - its much less sluggish than Raw which used to do my head in, the finishers seem easier to do as now you don't have to have them dazed and the reversals are pretty good, graphics are also impressive too, much improved over the first so far, off to play more!
