> Have you actually played RAW 2 or Wrestlemania X9?
Nope. There's a lot of assumptions back there. :)
I'm judging that from my experience of RAW and factoring in the changes they've made plus what Spikecast has said considering he has also played the original.
To be honest though the info I've had on Wrestlemania X9 was very vague, IGN's review was vague and this set me thinking that it wasn't going to be up to the standards of No Mercy/RAW as they didn't exactly rave about it.
I know they've tried to make X9 more No Mercy-like but I already know how No Mercy-like the RAW engine is.
Considering they've thrown in some more match types for RAW 2 and a good load of weapons, but don't have the backstage arenas, RAW 2 looks to be the nearest thing to No Mercy.
is it better than
> No Mercy? equal to it?
I'd say equal. In the original RAW there's no backstage areas unlike in No Mercy and I think RAW 2 doesn't have any back stage areas either. The way raw plays is like a more fluid No Mercy, there's a lot more collision detection (For instance if someone's climbing through the ropes you CAN hit them and knock them down - unlike in No Mercy.
In RAW 2 they've thrown in all the matches you'd be used to in No Mercy (except possibly Iron Man, although that could be in RAW 2 aswell).
The main attraction of RAW 2 for me is the new match types and the 4 player story mode.
I'd say on the Next-Gen consoles RAW 2 is the closest thing to No Mercy.
i'm not a wrestling fan, but i love beating the chedder out of people with steel chairs, 2x4s, baseball bats etc etc etc.is it better than No Mercy? equal to it? is there a demo of it available?
