The PS2 launch day had people queueing for days, even trailing electric sockets to the stores so the can play on the outside.
The GC launch day went with a bit of a fizz, with a couple of small queues.
Evidentally, this shows that the PS2 was more eagerly awaited than the GC. Why is this?

The PS2 sold alot because it had so much hype. It wasn't very good and there were loads of complaints because the DVD player didn't work.
The GC will keep selling loads and where do you get your figures from???

Does it matter how many it sells, it can still be a good console!
The Playstation 2 launch was not completely overshadowed a couple of days earlier by the most horrific act of extreme terrorism seen in are generation.
Also, the Playstation2 went into the market when it was a lot more stable, also the Playstation2 at this time in launch (if launched alongside GC) was calling half the customers asking to have the console back because of faults!
HA!
Also, the Playstation2 only sold a 3 console to 1 game ratio after two weeks, the GC has already picked up a two games to every console, and considering this stats as well, the GC has not had a failed launch, infact Nintendo will and are happy that the console did sell this well!
You just wait for the America launch.
Actually, it should be called the GameCuboid. Stupid Nintys.
is it istsy-bitsy teeny-weenie
or just CHUNK
Also, the majority of Nintendo 'fans' are smarter than

yeh right nintendo fans like pokemon
and if a new pokemon game comes out with a different colour on the end of the title they buy it and think its the best game ever

Trust me there no way the console will go down the same road as the Dreamcast, the launch in Japan hasn't been very big. But there no way Nintendo will go the same route as Sega theyve got tons of big name developers on board. Maybe it won't overtake the Playstation 2 as the market leader but the sales will pick up.
