OK, here's a difinitive difference between the PS2 and GC that we can argue about for a few hours:

The PS2 launch day had people queueing for days, even trailing electric sockets to the stores so the can play on the outside.

The GC launch day went with a bit of a fizz, with a couple of small queues.

Evidentally, this shows that the PS2 was more eagerly awaited than the GC. Why is this?

I got mine from the financial times which my dad reads.. and whenever there is a game related artical I browse through it many times.

Ok. fair point. The GC has half the volume of the PS2 and a 1/3 the volume of the Xbox.
