The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Moderators and non Moderators alike, lend me your ears! (or eyes in this case!) With all the recent stress and aggravation caused by the JA's, we at Freeola are wishing to know exactly what:
A) Moderators - what would you like to be able to do, to be able to perform your jobs more effectively?
B) Regulars and chatters - What would you like to see Moderators able to do, to be able to help protect the forums from spammers and abusive users? Or do you think they currently have enough power?
Once we know exactly what you want to be able to do on here, without having to worry about alerting us staffies all the time, (although we should always be lurking to take action) we should be able to make this a better place to be.
It's not like there's a mod who can ban a poster from all the forums.
> Flag users for possible banning (sent to staff)
I can see what you mean by doing this. However surely if we flag someone for banning, we would have more then enough reason to do so. Therefore should be able to give an outright ban there and then if needed. You know what the staff are like. There rarely about, they get round to doing things eventually. Hence why they have mods to help control the place. (I know we see alot of Vexxxed at the minute, must be after a bonus) However were limited on what we can do there for its really having no effect on the place.

Is this true or is it another fib like Snuggly saying they (staffies) could see what we'd written in a post before it was edited? :)

I do that anyway, although I've only edited one thing and eelted nothing.
I had to move a spoiler warning to the top of the thread and I made it clear at the top of the thread that I'd done just that.

Agreed!
Allow Mods to:
Delete posts (including JATs) - these would be highlighted to staff, who can still have access to the deleted post in case of any mistake/bad intentions.
Flag users for possible banning (sent to staff)
Sticky items (currently done)
Amend posts after original poster gives their consent (maybe a list of people who are happy with a certain Mod amending their posts). Mainly in case people are away etc...
The one thing I'd like to see is Biglime stripped of his mod status (if he hasn't been already) many of the regs have disagreed with his heavy-handed modding, and whilst I haven't noticed it myself I believe those involved and would support them if they wanted Limey de-modded.

Suprisingly =P

I think you can bar newbies too.
