It's only two weeks, but it does put it AFTER the Xbox release.
The reason is to ensure there are plenty of 'CUBE's on the shelves.
Hmmm.
More later.
The only ones who may be tempted to get the Xbox instead will be the uninformed or those who aren't too fussed about the actual platform they play their games on.
If you make an uninformed choice, you get what you pay for. Let them suffer! :-)

Hmmmmm...mildly amusing.
But I've done it before. I came on as Sally a while ago. :D
But I don't know any newbies who've been here over 300 days...
When someone has saved up loads of £££'s to buy a console only to see an X-Box instead of the GAMECUBE they may just get an X-Box. Especially if they see some videos of the X-Box's games.
I'm not talking about hardcore gamers as much, just the casual gamers. They still make a difference though.
At the same time, though, they don't want to risk being in short supply when they actually release it, as this may impact badly on the press that they get.
I agree with YH, it won't affect many people's decisions-and that's if the X-Box doesn't get delayed as well.
But about the UK Launch, it may be made later than what it was planned to be. What did we think it was?? Spring 2002?? It may be made a couple of weeks later. But to be honest, it still doesn't matter really that much.
Doesn't SmackDown 3 come out in November?? And perhaps MGS2 in the US and Japan. It could be a bit of a 3-way battle. The PS2's best games vs X-Box vs GameCube.
Well, it will certainly be interesting...but it will be more interesting when they come out in the UK. {:)
One thing though, is the UK release of the

As there is no UK release date yet, it won't affect it!
Maybe we'll get a UK launch date at The Nintendo Show (which I shall be attending).
How will it affect the 'Cube sales? If at all?
I suspect MS are now feeling very happy, but why? Surely people who were going to buy a 'Cube won't suddenly turn round and say something like: "I can't be @r$ed to wait another 2 weeks, I'll get an XBox instead." Very unlikely.
I suspect that this date won't affect very much at all. Those that are going to get an XBox will still get one, and those that want to get a 'Cube will still get one.
Maybe those "undecideds's" may have their opinion swayed. They see an XBox running and they decide to get one?
Possibly.
