Basically they are shown a pink warning card - that's in between yellow and red - and following this they are a "Pinkie" for a specified period of time.
Their name of course turns to pink.
Ladies and Gennelmen - it's YOOOOUUUR CALL, YUURE CHOICE.
(why thanks Hughie, but what happened to Murray Walker)

I'm in total agreement, the thing about pinkies is that some people are actually going to go all out to be the first one, and then all their mates are going to want to be pinkies too. But that's the teenage rebel mindset for you.
I'm against it, just a friendly email pointing out the error of their ways from an admin. would do the trick. If it doesn't, ban them.
hmmm? What kind of a word is that for tagging onto someone when they have done something wrong?
If it's for bad langauge, then yes, it's better than banning them, and lets them know they've done something wrong.
But I can see lots of people complaining about being 'pinkied' for what they see as no good reason.

I like that idea a lot, doesn't mark people out for direct abuse.
Others have said this, but why not change their tagline or status (new/reg) to "Under Caution", and stop them contributing to their word and post count for a certain duration.
If people see the under caution tagline, they would be able to click on their stats to bring up the official reason for the caution.
Can I have a Brain as well with that?
yeah!
Well what about the cartoon Pinkie and the brain, Pinkie was the best character methinks! :D
Maybe a really bright pink though so it stands out like a sore thumb! You know the sort of brightness of a JAT's name.
