I'd have to say GTA Vice City (without sounding like a fanboy), as it's thrown the GTA series from its birds-eye-view pixelated layout, to a beautifully rendered 3D world.
Other series's I think have improved since the originals include Age of Empires 2, it's just the best strategy game ever, if you disagree with me you are wrong.
However other series's seem to get worse as they go along. The Fifa series peaked with Fifa 99', a gem of a game, but the more recent Fifa titles lick balls - off the ball control? What!?
So, what sequels are good and which ones drink man mayonaise?

And Ocarina of Time.
If I had a decent computer, it'd easily be the first game I bought for it, then it'd be the best game ever.

I'm sad, my computer has no graphics card and only a 600 MHz processor, and call of Duty is the best game I've ever played (possibly) AND, the new expansion pack is out for it.
Munn is sad

Graphics don't make a game boy.
I like Red Alert 2 better, although the graphics aren't as good, I like it more, bu Generals takes a close second, shame ma PC cannaerun it.
Oh, and Vice City wasn't GTA's leap to 3D, that'd be GTA 3.
