The "Sony Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
No, it won`t be as lond as the FOG version.
Why am I trying it out anyway?
The PS2 forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest PS2 game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.
I'll let you know how I get on and thanks again.
The ethernet port on your computer maybe built in to the motherboard, if it is then it'll be around the area where your parallel port, keyboard, mouse etc are plugged in. Anyway, have a look and see what happens.
If your on MSN then add me tonight jive (underscore) 101 (at) hotmail (dot) com - damn, just realised I'm speaking to our financial advisor tonight about insurance etc from 7.30 and probably wont be on there either :|
Sorry about the OS part, heh I keep saying sorry .... glad to see your using the parallel port the way it was designed for :)
Now you say "Amen to that" when you haven't established that you've got one yet so don't jump the gun too quickly :P

Now don't start shouting at me or cursing (it's bad for the blood pressure) but I'm fairly sure I don't have one on the computer. I had a quick look on Monday while talking to the tech guy on the phone but I will have a thorough look tonight.

You read my message too fast. I said what OS stands for is one of the few things I've actually learnt and remembered :D

If it makes you feel any happier my printer is still connected via parallel port and I haven't used a USB for it.

Amen to that.

As you can tell technology is doing its best to confound me and winning again :)
Other than that I'm good thanks, meandering though life at my usual pace.
Hi Ros, long time no speak, where have you been?

On the router you've bought, you have ethernet ports (or RJ45 ports) if you look at the cable that was supplied to you, you will see both ends are the same shape so one end goes into the router port and the other goes to you computer, if you spin it round you should see a port exactly the same as on the router. This is what I was talking about.

XP is good as this is very easy to setup.
> because i received instructions on how to do that.
Ok, through that outta the window and go with the ethernet connection, USB should be used for plug and play peripherals, not really something that is gonna be connected to your computer permanently. Something which really annoys me about printers and USB, why drop the parallel port WHEN IT FRICKIN WORKS!?!?!?!
> I have?
Yes see above explanation.
> Didn't know I had them or how to utilise them :(
Again see above explanation.

Heh .... research into something you've not done before or are gonna be uncertain about is always helpful :)

Phew, glad we've finally established that you've got a NIC, now all we've got to do is get you to use it :P
Oooo an edit button, cool :D
you?
Also, hello stranger. How's things going with you?
Where's yours?
