Goldeneye is still THE DADDY of first person shooters, and Fifa 99 is as good as Pro Evo 3 for its playability (not graphics though). WWF No Mercy is still the best wrestling game out there, no contest, the smackdown titles dont even come close to its prowess.
I still like my PS2 but the N64 is just, well, more fun!
Yes, time limits aren't too good, but Majora's Mask made it work. It's easily the best in the Zelda, there are still just as many mini-games to take part in, brilliant bosses and genius puzzles.
Oh, and comparing Halo to Goldeneye and PD is just stupid, Halo is overhyped crap. I was really looking gorward to playing a really good, 1-player FPS' when I heard my brother was egtting an XBox after TimeSplitters 2 left a little to be desired, but it's awful. Rare's efforts, on the other hand, are brilliant.
There are only a few of Rare's games (StarFox, Ghoulies, Jet Force Gemini) that haven't been up to excellent standards. Modern day games aren't bad, I just haven't been as impressed as I thought I would be.
Goldeneye isn't better than the new FPS' in regards to the controls, graphics, AI etc... but it is still yet to be beaten for the ideas... give the game modern AI, Graphics and control systems and the game is far superior than anything out today.
Goldeneye is a better "Game" than Halo but regarding the change in technology Halo is far more playable.

I second that.
I hate being rushed.
Yet the next big game I'm getting is Harvest Moon.
Ah, my logic rules.

I've done it before, Rik. I've played new FPS', and gone to my N64 to play Goldeneye, and, to be honest, it did pretty much nothing for me.
> Going back to Banjo beats the hell out of Sunshine
I know I am a Sunshine fanboy but, be honest, Rik, Banjo is one hell of an average game. After the first 1 or 2 levels, I got bored, and regretted the £4 that i spent on it (unboxed, hurrah).

Pet Hate 1: Time Limits
Limit freedom, limit fun, ruins games (Pikmin, anyone?)
Majoras mask is a good game but it's the fact that I'm on a time limit, and I've got to be watching my back all the time kinda ruins it. I couldn't get into it...

Fact is another way of saying 'my opinion', now, is it?

Graphics and smoothness don't make a game, but a decent engine does.
After playing the likes of Halo and XIII, going back to Perfect Dark and Goldeneye makes me realise how superior they are to modern-day FPS'. It's not just looking back thinking how perfect those old games are, it's playing them and realising how overhyped today's are.
Going back to Banjo beats the hell out of Sunshine and returning to Majora's Mask does make Wind Waker the worse game. It's not idiotic rememerance that Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are much better than Halo, it's fact.
New colourful, smooth graphics don't make great games, WInd Waker had two dungeons removed because they didn't have enough time, time which could have been saved on special effects and the liked.
