Twin Snakes is EASIER.
I am talking about the original which was extremely easy to complete, as was the sequel. Both Max Payne games were incredably easy but highly enjoyable. Not trying to be awkward just pointing out something you are having trouble understanding. The rifle was the most tasking part due to the back tracking, outside of that and figuring out with Mantis controller switch it was a pi$$ take but still one of the best games to date.
Original = easy.
Twin Snakes = By all accounts easy but with the added dog tag mode.
That for me is enough to make it better than the original due to the extra replay value .

Alastair, what are you talking about...? Collecting the rifle was harder than killing the bosses, wtf? Yeah, that whole going into a room and picking up the box thing is a real challenge!
Trying to be awkward again are we? Anyway, since you found the original such a cakewalk, I would cancel your order right now. Everything else is the same (bar the extended cut-scenes, which I believe was what you complained about in MGS2) so all that's left is the gameplay - and it was better in the first! Why bother...

Ye I did in the original it was getting the rifle which was the most difficult part and even that was just a case of looking in all the little rooms.
Oh yeah, Sniper Wolf - the easiest of them all in Twin Snakes, I killed her without getting hit once.
The boss battles were easy in the original. Revolver Ocelot could be target extremely easily with the semi auto target system which picked him up when you went close. The hardest part was avoiding the trip wires. Despite being one of my favourite games of all time the original was stupidly easy with only the Sniper Wolf bit being on ever so slightly tasking.
